Say what you will about the Russians – I like them quite a lot, so I tend to be quite emphatically in favour of them (and their women, obviously) – but they really do have a sense of humour. Russian humour, however, does tend to take some effort to understand, because if you’ve ever read any Russian literature, you’ll find that it ends up reading a lot like this:

Yep, pretty much. I’ve read… let’s see… The Idiot, Crime and Punishment, and Doctor Zhivago, and they are ALL exactly like that.
However – once you get past the rather bleak Russian sense of fatalism and understand where it’s coming from, you’ll very quickly realise that the Russians have an absolutely hilarious sense of humour – and, unlike uptight Westerners terrified of cancel culture, they have no qualms whatsoever about mocking the stupidest things in society.
Which brings us to a very amusing video that my good friend over in Ukraine, Kyle Trouble, sent me recently:
Moral of the story: if you’re going to make fun of SJWs, get a Russian to do it.
