“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

Friday T&A: The Good Edition

Here we are again, lads, on a very special Friday. For you see, this is Good Friday, the day on which Our Lord was crucified upon the hill of Golgotha (or Calvary, for the Latin traditionalists), next to two thieves. Beaten, scourged, suffering as no man should ever have to suffer, Our Lord died in agony after suffering for six hours upon the Cross, disgraced and humiliated and spat upon and reviled by the very people that He had come to save.

What could possibly make this a “good” or even great day – which is how the Orthodox Christians recognise this day, though according to a very different calendar?

It is a great day because, nearly two thousand years ago, we suffered an apocalyptic defeat – which three days later resulted in the greatest victory that we have ever seen.

The point of this day is to ram home the fact that God the Father watches over us and has plans for us. He wants us to depend upon Him. He needs us to ask Him for help. And to show us just how much He cares for us, He sent us His one beloved Son to show us exactly what is possible through faith, hope, and love.

Today is a day of solemnity and contemplation – but it is also a day for us to remember the great victory that the True Faith has won over the past centuries.

So peace be upon you, my brothers. Do not lose hope, do not lose faith, and certainly do not lose love for your people, your families, your neighbours. These are the people who will carry you through your dark times, as you will carry them through theirs.

Remember that as dark as the world looks right now, things were far worse two millennia ago.

Things will get better. As Race “Mike Pence” Bannon, Vice President of the United States, pointed out recently, we can and should grieve for those that we have lost to Corona-chan, but we should not be like those who grieve without hope.

There is always hope. There is always faith. And there is always love. All you have to do to find it is to look for all that is good, beautiful, and true.

Put your mind at ease, and do not be overly troubled by the madness around you. We will turn the corner, and we will do it soon.

And now let’s get on to the hot girl of the week.

This week’s Instathot goes by the name of Abby Rao, age 22 from New Orleans – Nawlins itself, no less – and she is apparently one of the biggest thots on the platform right now, despite the fact that her Instaham page has barely 80 posts. She would like you to believe that she is blonde, but it’s pretty obvious that the, uh, carpet probably doesn’t match the drapes, if you get my meaning.

Happy Friday, lads – happy Good Friday, more importantly. Pray if you feel the need, do not despair, and get some rest. We will get through all of the challenges that we face, and we will triumph over evil in the end.
