“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

Monday morning Avatardation

by | Dec 12, 2022 | Mondays | 2 comments

Ah, Monday, our old enemy. We meet again at last. Actually, this day just exists to remind us how short the weekends are, and how little time there is to rest and recover from the travails of the previous week. Certainly I could have used an extra three or four hours of time to goof off and listen to geopolitics broadcasts, but sadly, that was not to be. And, if you happen to live in the northern hemisphere, the fact that it is winter, and therefore the days are very cold and very, very short, does not help matters.

Of course, all the whingeing in the world will not help the situation – besides, we really ought to leave ingratitude and whining to Harry the Ginger Whinger and his wife, Duchess Caringslut the Half-Blood Princess, they’re much better at it. We shall get on with CRUSHING IT.

And there is no better way to do that than by unpacking yet another instalment of the Great Mondaydact Browser Crusher.

This week, we look at one of the best and worst movies of all time, depending on how you think about films. That would be James Cameron‘s Avatar, which was simultaneously mind-bending in its brilliant visuals and spectacular effects and mind-numbing in its sheer idiocy, bland plot, generic characters, and completely predictable outcome.

Let us remind ourselves of just how silly that film was, with CinemaSins:

Our drunken Scotch helps remind us why it was such a brilliant yet stupid film:

We do this, of course, because Avatar 2 will soon be in theatres – if it isn’t already – and there is a real worry that it might flop:

Those worries are real, but it is quite likely that this will turn out to be a huge hit – Chris Gore offers his take on the film, and says that it is amazingly stupid and ridiculous, and yet he can’t wait to go see it again:

He also points out that this is one of the only really family-friendly films out there right now – anything from the House of the Devil Mouse is corrupt and evil to the point of outright Satanry, and he would not trust Disney anymore to make a film that he can watch with his kids.

It is depressing to think that the only reason this film might succeed, is because everything else is so shit, but that is the world we live in right now.

Dawn of Battle

The Male Brain was busy tlasthis week with a personal trip, but he still put together plenty of great stuff to keep us entertained on a Monday. We start with NFKRZ‘s review of the film adaptation of Superman: Red Son, which – I can attest personally – is actually quite good:

The original comic, on which this is based, is excellent, though the “loop” involved at the end is a bit weird – you have to read it to understand what I’m on about.

HistoryLegends unpacks the sad reality of the woketard US military:

Think Before You Sleep is finally back on these pages, with a commentary on a rather interesting documentary that pits conservative teens against liberal parents:

The mad geniuses at thejuicemedia explain the Australian housing crisis, which apparently is indeed a thing:

That hot sexy librarian look, PLUS the accent… OOF, Lord, have mercy.

Though she does need a visit from the Tiddy Fairy. Jus’ sayin’.

Also, here’s the obligatory IN AUSTRALIA, EVERYTHING WANTS TO KILL YOU AND EAT YOUR EYES FOR JUJUBEES!!! – especially the damn goobermint.

And last but by no means least, The Babylon Bee wraps up its epic series concerning Clownipornians who move to the great state of Texas:

Poli-ticking Off

Mark Dice looks at the God-Emperor’s supposedly horrific statement about upending MUH CONSTITUTION!!! – and it turns out that what he actually wrote was, in fact, completely sensible:

The dynamic duo over at Redacted really engage everyone’s giggle reflex – and then seriously push the gag reflex – by talking about how a really weirdo doctor with a really hilarious name is turning Vs into Ps:

It’s both absolutely ridiculous, and totally horrifying. This sort of shit should be completely against the law. I’m telling you right now, the day WILL come when the wokesters will be IMPALED ON SPIKES – and people like me, who have been warning about such things for YEARS, will not stand by to do one damned thing to stop them.

They also did a story on one of the worst abuses of power you will ever see – the case of Baby Will in Kiwiland:

Where is Madame Guillotine when you actually need her?!?!

Jackson Hinkle analyses the statements from the founder of the cut-price Wagner Group rip-off, the “Mozart Group”, former USMC Col. Andrew Milburn, about the horrendous

Righteous Rantery

Lord Razor of the Fist Clan watches video game awards so you don’t have to:

PJW very much reflects the sentiments of the majority of his countrymen when it comes to “Ginge and Cringe”, or “Harry and the Half-Blood Princess”, or “Whingey and Duchess Caringslut” – whatever you want to call them, they are grifters and con artists of the worst kind:

The inimitable, irrepressible Katie Hopkins offers up some pithy and punchy thoughts about the disaster that is the supposed “Pride of Britain” – the National Health disService:

Bad Medicine

Dr. John Campbell examines the latest clinical evidence from a peer-reviewed (yeah, I know – *eyerolls*) German study, which shows just how dangerous the not-vaxx really is:

Warriors of Faith

Tha Dizzle is back with a truly EPIC episode of Muhammad’s Boom-Boom Room – his commitment to his craft is genuinely Oscar-worthy:

Ryan Kinel is thoroughly unimpressed with the Meghan & Harry Netherflix series:

The Drinker does an excellent analysis of everything wrong with the M-She-U’s Phase Bore:

Reading Too Much Into Things

Your “Science is F***ING WEIRD” moment of the week is from Dawn Pine, and concerns a new type of cyberattack that targets antivirus software – sort of like the computer version of what AIDS (supposedly) does to the human immune system:

Yair says that to trigger the issue on vulnerable systems he first created a malicious file โ€” using the permissions of an unprivileged user โ€” so the EDR would detect and attempt to delete the file. He then found a way to force the EDR to postpone deletion until after reboot, by keeping the malicious file open. His next step was to create a C:\TEMP\ directory on the system, make it a junction to a different directory, and rig things so that when the EDR product attempted to delete the malicious file โ€” after reboot โ€” it followed a path to a different file altogether. Yair found he could use the same trick to delete multiple files in different places on a computer by creating one directory shortcut and putting specially crafted paths to targeted files within it, for the EDR product to follow.

Yair says that with some of the tested EDR products, he was not able to do arbitrary file deletion but was able to delete entire folders instead.

The vulnerability affects EDR tools that postpone deletion of malicious files till after a system reboots. In these instances, the EDR product stores the path to the malicious file in some location โ€” that varies by vendor โ€” and uses the path to delete the file after rebooting. Yair says some EDR products don’t check if the path to the malicious file leads to the same place after reboot, giving attackers a way to stick a sudden shortcut in the middle of the path. Such vulnerabilities fall into a class known as Time of Check Time of Use (TOCTOU) vulnerabilities, he notes.

Yair says that in most cases, organizations can recover deleted files. So, getting an EDR to delete files on a system by itself, while bad, isn’t the worst case. “A deletion is not exactly a wipe,” Yair says. To achieve that, Yair designed Aikido so it would overwrite files it had deleted, making them unrecoverable as well.

Your long read of the week is by Mike Whitney, who looks at the revelations of the Twitter Files and what they mean for all of us:

The implication is clear, the government and its agencies are now working hand-in-hand with the social media companies in an effort to shape narratives so they align with the political agenda of the people in power. This is a war on ordinary people who depend on the free flow of information to make informed decisions on matters critical to their own survival. The greatest proponent of that war on free speech is the government itself which is progressively merging with the social media companies in order to control what people say, hear and think. Naturally, the moneyed interests behind the politicians and deep state operatives, take great interest in the outcome of this struggle. There has always been a significant group of elites in America who believe that individual freedom must be sacrificed to create a more orderly society. The relentless attack on free speech suggests that this element now has the upper hand and will use it to their own advantage.

And further:

The response of Twitterโ€™s executives to the Hunter Biden laptop story can lure one into thinking that that it was an โ€˜isolated incidentโ€™ that probably wonโ€™t happen again. But that misses the point entirely. What we are seeing is the installation of a new security infrastructure that is explicitly aimed at preventing the free exchange of ideas. The government has gone to great lengths to implement this repressive system, mainly because, among elites, there is nearly-universal support for rolling back the First Amendment and impeding the uninhibited circulation of ideas, viewpoints and critical analysis. All of these pose a significant threat to the political agenda of the people in power. They donโ€™t want to deal with that, which is why they have dispatched their lackeys at the FBI and the other agencies to use their coercive influence to persuade honchos at the social media companies to censor those journalists, critics or dissidents who veer from the โ€œofficial narrativeโ€ or who dare to expose truths that they do not want exposed.

Bottom line: All the pieces are being put in place to ensure that free speech wonโ€™t survive the decade. The Twitter Files help us to see what is going on, but they do not provide a plan for fighting back.

Can’t even caption that one. Maybe our host can help.

Hot Totty

Finally, here’s your shot of Instathot to get Monday off to a suitably silly start. This here is Ekaterina Gruzhvinskaya (ะ•ะบะฐั‚ะตั€ะธะฝะฐ ะ“ั€ัƒะถะฒะธะฝัะบะฐั), age 27 from the city of Nevinnomyssk, a place of about 120,000 residents in Stavropol region of southern Russia. She is famous primarily for being famous – which is to say, she was a reality TV star in something called Dom-2, kind of like Russia’s version of Big Brother. Y’know, the TV show where a bunch of irrelevant people agree to live in a fishbowl for the cameras, and it turns out to be really incredibly boring, or so I’m told. (Keep in mind, I don’t watch realitard TV.)

She is, as you can probably tell, QUITE artificial. Apparently, she was quite pretty before she got “augmented”. Fathers, make sure your daughters understand this – plastic surgery DOES NOT make them look good.

OK, boys, tongues off the floor and back to work.
