I was perusing the Russian corners of teh innarwebz – OK, fine, admittedly I read the Russian news websites in English, просто потому что я могу говорить и понимать русский язык очень плохо и медленно – when I came across an article in RT extolling the virtues of a young German girl named Naomi Seibt who is being marketed as, basically, the Anti-Gretard:

A 19-year-old German girl has joined the right-wing Heartland Institute to counter “climate alarmism” with “climate realism,” leading MSM to dub her “anti-Greta” (Thunberg). But unlike Thunberg, she’s open about her backers.

Naomi Seibt has been attacked as a “climate change denier” for working with the Heartland Institute, a libertarian think-tank funded by oil and gas companies and conservative groups. But the young German insists she’s not denying climate change, just trying to inject some reason into the debate – a demand which has only caused her detractors to shriek louder.

“I don’t want to get people to stop believing in man-made climate change, not at all,” she told the Washington Post on Monday, while acknowledging she found the idea that human activity alone was responsible for the warming planet “ridiculous.” The outlet’s profile of the young activist, whom it not-so-subtly dubs “the anti-Greta,” proceeds to paint her as a puppet of the Heartland Institute, which is “paying [Seibt] to question established climate science” – as if she would never have done so on her own.

Suggesting there’s anything inauthentic or manufactured about Thunberg has been heresy in MSM ever since the young Swede burst onto the global scene at the tender age of 15. Even as it emerged that her rise to superstardom was choreographed with the help of PR man Ingmar Rentzhog, whose ‘We Don’t Have Time’ climate-focused social network featured her prominently in its marketing materials; even after a data leak exposed that Thunberg’s Facebook posts were written by her father and an Indian activist, the integrity of her convictions was never questioned. After all, she had held those beliefs for years before embarking on her climate crusade.

Seibt’s activism, too, predates her involvement with the Heartland Institute. She told the Post she developed a political consciousness “a few years ago” after questioning German immigration policy in class triggered a backlash from teachers and students alike, causing her to develop a general “skepticism about mainstream German thinking.” Only after a Heartland Institute employee saw her speak at another think tank affiliated with the right-wing AfD party – after she was already making videos, including one in which she “came out” for Pride Month as a climate change skeptic – did she become the face of the group, which is heavily funded by oil and gas interests as well as conservative bogeymen the Koch brothers.

OK, here’s my take on this young lady:

She shows few of the signs of exhibiting the same daemonic oppression that the Gretard does. The first time I saw the video, I thought that there was something seriously wrong with her eyes and face that indicated something rather weird going on in her psyche. However, once you see her smile and speak, it becomes clear that she is simply a normal teenage girl, albeit one with, apparently, a pretty decent head on her shoulders.

As with all such public figures, I advise caution – we’ve all been bamboozled before by the likes of puppets such as Prof. Jordan B. Peterson and others, all of whom were created by the (((media))) and the whores of the Establishment to keep the population “on the reservation”, as it were. The fact that Ms Seibt is not out there pointing out what a giant hoax the entire idea of “man-made global warming” is, indicates strongly that she is something of a puppet herself.

That fact aside – the contrast with the Gretard could not be greater.

It’s pretty clear that the Gretard has been subjected to some severe child abuse over her life. Her learning difficulties, her weird dieting, her overly-permissive and rather stupidly liberal (Lord, forgive me my redundancies) parents, and a host of other factors, have all added up to make her a poster-child for everything that is wrong with modern progressivism. (Not, of course, that we needed much by way of reminders.)

Ms Seibt, on the other hand, looks to be a relatively healthy, fully-grown young lady. And unlike the Gretard, there is no question that she is sponsored and promoted by various interest groups. She is quite open about this fact, which speaks volumes for her honesty and is a rather refreshing change from the plainly manufactured and propped-up puppet that is St. Gretard of Thunberg.

Looking more broadly at the culture wars, it is increasingly clear that a major pushback against the overwhelming power of the Left in the popular culture is taking place. We’ve been seeing it happen for years. #Gamergate was only the beginning; shortly thereafter we had #Comicsgate, then Brexit, then the YUUUUUGE!!! electoral VICTORY! of His Most Illustrious, Noble, August, Benevolent, and Legendary Celestial Majesty, the God-Emperor of Mankind, Donaldus Triumphus Magnus Astra, the First of His Name.

With climate “science”, though, that backlash has taken longer to form and has been slow to respond to the changes in, well, the climate.

Climategate was a long time ago, and it honestly didn’t do much to damage the reputations of the people involved. Michael Mann is still out there flogging his discredited “hockey stick” graph to the elites who like to hang out at Davos. James Hansen from NASA’s Goddard Institute is still out there selling the same old snake oil. Al Bore is still taken seriously by people who hop on private jets to go to conferences to listen to other ultra-rich bores drone on about the desperate NEED to DO SOMETHING!!! to save the planet by cutting carbon emissions.

But it is becoming increasingly clear that the rest of us, especially young folks, simply aren’t listening any more.

Their alarmism has failed, for the very simple reason that their predictions have repeatedly come up short. The predictive track record of the climate alarmists is utterly disastrous; you could do far, far better in predicting whether the global average temperature will go up or down by 0.01 degree Celsius next year simply by flipping a coin than by paying attention to their most sophisticated climate models.

Those models keep failing to predict actual warming because, by and large, they are designed to back-test against existing data and fit that data very carefully – and are then built with an assumption right in the code that the next century will experience significant “radiative forcing” and thereby significant warming.

The most cataclysmic future estimates are designed to incorporate an assumption that atmospheric warming caused by human activity will then result in the melting of Siberian permafrosts and Arctic and Antarctic ice, which will then release vast amounts of trapped methane straight into the atmosphere, cooking the entire planet as we careen straight over a “greenhouse cliff”.

Except… that last scenario is actually pretty unlikely to happen, according to the latest ACTUAL REALLY-FOR-REAL SCIENCE!!!

The reality is that our world’s climate systems are controlled by a number of factors that we can do absolutely dick-all about.

The most important of these is that great big honking ball of fire in the sky, called the Sun.

That big ball of fire produces a very strong “solar wind” that acts as a sort of shield around the Earth, pushing back the vast amount of cosmic radiation that hits the planet every single day from supernovas and various other cosmic catastrophes going off in deep space. If it weren’t for that solar wind, and our own atmosphere, life on Earth wouldn’t exist – the so-called “primordial soup” that evolutionists keep telling us we came from, would have been turned into bouillabaisse.

When that solar wind weakens due to a decline in activity in the Sun’s own atmosphere and the fusion reactions going off deep within that huge reactor in the sky, more of those cosmic rays hit the Earth’s surface. This causes more cloud cover to form and eventually results in cooler temperature trends all around.

That, by the way, is apparently a pretty good description of what is happening with our Sun right now. Solar activity has tapered off for the last few years, and is continuing to do so. The mathematical models of people who actually know what the frack they’re talking about indicate that the Sun is going quiet again, after a period of significant sustained activity for the past 200 years or so.

This is very bad news for us humans.

We thrive when temperatures are warm. Civilisation flourishes in periods of warming and withers during periods of cooling. Famine, plague, and war all tend to take place more frequently during cooling phases in Earth’s history – anyone living through the apocalyptic 14th Century, which saw a minimum in sunspot activity known as the Wolf Minimum, could tell you that:

While the Sun is a major controlling factor in our planet’s warming and cooling cycles, it is not the only factor. The Earth’s orbit around the Sun is not circular but elliptical, and the Earth also “wobbles” a bit on its axis as it revolves through space. That wobble and the elliptical nature of the orbit affects Earth’s climate – as does the Sun’s position in the Milky Way Galaxy and its point in the period of orbit around the centre of said galaxy. And as does the Milky Way’s position relative to other galaxies in its neighbourhood cluster.

As Ms Seibt rightly points out, arguing that “muh climate change” is all due to those eeeeeevil man-made emissions is unscientific to the point of absurdity, and a little more healthy scepticism and a little less teenage stroppiness on the part of the younger generation would be welcomed in this matter.

In fact, the whole idea of ascribing global warming to “man-made carbon dioxide emissions” is so utterly stupid as to be unworthy of taking seriously.

We know, because the data show this, that CO2 emissions lag global temperatures by an average of about 700 years. And we know, because, again, SCIENCE!!!, that whatever ocean currents are doing now to affect global warming, happened in the distant past because those currents have a cycle of anywhere between five hundred and ten thousand years.

Finally, we know, because DATA!!!, that the total amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is about 0.04% – of which about 3-4%, tops, is attributable to human activity.

And that’s all before we get to the fact that there were times in Earth’s history – not that long ago either, geologically speaking – where the atmospheric CO2 levels were ten times higher than they are now, and life didn’t end. They were also about one quarter what they are now – very recently indeed, only in the last major Ice Age, in fact – and life didn’t end back then either.

Coming back to the main point here, it is good indeed to see alternatives to the Gretard emerging. And it is very much a welcome sign that the hammerlock once maintained by the (((media))) and the Establishment is weakening drastically.
