“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

“Harry and the Half-Blood Princess”, indeed

by | Jan 9, 2020 | Uncategorized | 6 comments

The title of this post is a direct reference to a classic missive by our beloved and dreaded Supreme Dark Lord (PBUH) Vox Day, who wrote back at the end of November 2017 – more than two years ago – that he expected that “young” (he’s my age) Prince Harry Windsor was making a gigantic mistake by marrying a half-black divorcee actress from a D-list soap opera who is several years older than himself.

This is what His Voxness said at the time:

Unless [Meghan Markle] possesses acute foresight and iron-clad self-discipline, this older actress is most likely going to eat the prince alive and control his life to an extent that will become distasteful to his family, to the public, and eventually, to Harry himself.

Eagle-eyed Loyal Readers may recognise that I myself said very similar things when the marriage between ‘Arry the Ginger and the Half-Blood Princess took place back in 2018, and then again shortly afterwards when it became clear that the new “Duchess of Sussex” was turning out to be a right royal pain in the arse.

I did not predict strife and discord between Harry and Meghan on the one hand, and the rest of the royals and pretty much the rest of the United Kingdom on the other, because I like such things. I did not predict it because that is what I want. I predicted it simply because it seemed the most likely logical outcome based on the facts that we knew at the time.

Turns out, though, that I underestimated Meghan “Wallis Simpson” Markle’s ability to manipulate her socio-sexually maladjusted husband. It appears that she and her ginger-haired weaker half have now decided that they don’t want to be royalty any more – but still expect to be supported by the British public for the foreseeable future, and want to have all of the privileges, perquisites, and perogatives that come with being descended from the House of Windsor.

In other words, they want to have their cake and eat it too, and they have made this clear in a manner that has absolutely infuriated the rest of the royal family:

There are expected to be crisis talks today among the most senior family members, who are ‘incandescent with rage’ after learning about the couple’s announcement minutes before it was published on their Instagram page.

Royal sources this morning claimed Prince Harry had ignored crystal-clear orders from the Queen on the subject, after she instructed him not to make announcement about his future plans at this time.

It is understood that Harry had requested a meeting with the Queen at Sandringham as soon as he arrived back in the UK with Meghan and their son Archie this weekend, following a six-week Christmas break to Canada.

The Queen offered to meet the Duke – which was blocked by courtiers – but she still made an explicit request to her grandson that he first discuss his future plans in detail with his father, the Prince of Wales.

But the couple defied the order, going ahead with the announcement and ‘pressing the nuclear button’ on their royal careers, with William and Charles allegedly receiving a copy of the statement just 10 minutes beforehand.

A senior royal source said the Queen and her family were ‘deeply disappointed’ by the news, while another said the royals were ‘shocked, saddened and downright furious’ at the couple.

A senior source told The Sun: ‘Their statement was not cleared with anyone. It breaks all protocol. This is a declaration of war on the family.

‘There is fury over how they’ve done this without any thought for the implications for the institution. The Queen is deeply upset. The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge are incandescent with rage.

‘Courtiers can’t believe it. There are so many unanswered questions but they’ve just up and done it without a thought for anyone else. The plan was there to discuss it and work out a way that works for everyone in the family.’

News of Prince Harry’s defiance to his grandmother was reported in the Evening Standard, which said his lack of compliance will have added to unprecedented expressions of uncertainty coming out of the palace last night.

In a terse statement issued slightly after the Sussexes made their own announcement, Buckingham Palace said: ‘Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage.

‘We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work though.’

I do believe that this is an appropriate moment to hand over the microphone to Captain Malcom Reynolds of the good ship Firefly:

Uh… well, yes, but not quite what I had in mind. You may remember that in the very first episode of the series, he said something about how it’s a real burden being right so often.

Well, he’s right.

Anyway, the fact is that this marriage is nothing short of a royal disaster for all concerned.

Prince Harry was once among the best-loved and most-respected royals. He was considered a party animal back in the day, who then turned into a mature, brave, honourable, thoroughly decent officer and gentleman. He really did a lot to redeem his original image as a feckless wastrel through his superb charity work, particularly with the Invictus Games, which earned him endless amounts of adulation and downright fawning press coverage.

He had it all – the respect and love of the British press and public, a lifestyle worthy of a king (or very close to it), the ability to travel wherever he wanted, the bully pulpit conferred by the mark of royalty to advance his pet causes and projects, and – rather importantly – a long string of beautiful girlfriends and flings to add as notches on his bedpost.

And he threw it all away for a ruthlessly efficient social climber with a character that is charitably described as “sassy” and “independent” and “feisty”, who has already been divorced once, who is not of his nation or race, who had and has a reputation for being a bit of a carousel-rider, and who has been known to walk away from friends and acquaintances the moment that they no longer prove to be useful.

Anyone with brains enough to count time to music could figure out that this marriage was going to be a colossal cock-up. I didn’t figure it would be this bad, though.

The British public has very conclusively turned against the Sussexes at this point. The front page of The Daily Mail, Britain’s favourite wide-circulation tabloid, has been full to the brim of stories that are practically frothing at the mouth with rage at the perceived self-centredness of these two most pampered of royals. The op-eds from the likes of Piers Morgan and Richard Kay and Sarah Vine absolutely seethe with indignation at the way that the two of them have upstaged the future Queen Catherine’s birthday and the extremely poor timing of their announcement amid the backdrop of nerve-wracking global tensions.

The key lesson to learn from all of this is the supreme importance of marketing and selling oneself – of positioning, as it were.

There was a time when the Sussexes were really doing a pretty good job of rehabilitating their reputations. They had gone on a mercy tour of the Dark Continent – which, as I pointed out earlier this week, simply cannot be saved, and it’s high time that the bleeding hearts of the Western elites stopped bothering – and had gotten some really great PR for themselves in the process.

But then the two of them opened their pie-holes and started yapping about how hard life as royalty was and how difficult it was to be in the public eye and how they were just holding on and existing instead of living and so on.

The backlash from the public was tremendous, and rightly so.

That, right there, was a case study in how not to market oneself. And unfortunately the Sussexes have continued to make the same mistake repeatedly.

It is very clear to me that this marriage will not end well. Sooner or later, Prince Harry – well, he won’t be a Prince for that much longer, I suppose – is going to find himself in an ethical, financial, or reputational mess that he simply will not be able to get out of on his own. At that point, he is desperately going to need the support of his wife – but he won’t get it because she will have been the one to put him in that mess in the first place.

He will then need the support of his closest friends and family – but he won’t get that either, because he has abandoned them all, pretty much entirely at the behest of his diva of a wife.

It will be at that point that he will be well and truly buggered.

The choices at that point will be terrible indeed, and will basically amount to staying in a marriage with a woman who will rule over him with a rod of iron and an increasingly dried-out and saggy body, or to leaving said marriage and experiencing all of the extreme trauma and misery that a divorce entails, while getting the added “bonus” of having it all play out in the public eye.

I feel sorry for the man, I really do. He had, and has, great potential to be a lion among men. But he has thrown it all away, and what is left now is nothing more than the worn-out husk of a man who thinks that he can defend the indefensible in the mistaken belief that he is preventing a repeat of what happened to the mother that he loved and lost at far too young an age.

Pray for him if you can, but more importantly, heed his lessons. Do not marry a Jezebel or a Delilah, for it shall be your undoing.

All this crap about charity is just putting a good face out there. He doesn't really care about anything. Everything he did after he got married in order to 'fix' his image was fake. I don't care one bit if a royal goes astray. Frankly, I don't think royals do anything but siphon money from the economy.

I wish all royalty to be brought down. They don't even care about religion, economics or anything for that matter. Would I act like a spoiled brat if I was in his position? Most probably, and many others I suppose. It's just a useless position if you think about it.

While I understand where you are coming from, history does not support this view. For an excellent set of counterarguments, take a look at Hans-Herman Hoppe's superb book, Democracy: The God that Failed.

Royal families may well be a useless anachronism these days – though there is some evidence in the British system, at least, to suggest that the Queen acts as a very underappreciated counterweight to an out-of-control Parliament and Supreme Court. But this does not mean that they are always so – monarchies in Thailand, Japan, and the UK all play a vital role in preserving national identities.

As for young Prince Harry himself, he certainly has made an utter pig's breakfast out of his image ever since he married the Half-Blood Princess. Of all of the stupid decisions ever made by the House of Windsor, at least in relation to marriage, this has to be right up near the top.

Just cut them off and defund them.

There is no reason that an adult further down than Third in Line (sixth in Harry's case) should be funded to live in Opulance. His marriage to Markle was only allowed after three babies were already born to William, pushing Harry down the sixth and ensuring that he will never be King or even first/second/third in line.

People don't realize how much of the Monarchy is dependent on the timeless Queen herself. Once she dies, there will be pressure to just keep the bare minimum going, which is to say that any adult further down than Third in Line needs to go out and earn a living as a civilian.

At any rate, don't be surprised if Meghan has a car accident outside of England much like Princess Di did. Her Majesty may have to order James Bond to do this again.

Evidently both the Queen and Prince Charles have come around to that way of thinking, for some time now. There have been rumblings for the past couple of years of plans for a stripped-down royal family, where those who are not immediately in the line of succession will be expected to earn their own way and will no longer get the HRH treatment.

This would not be a bad outcome and would do a great job of both preserving the ancient monarchical traditions, which is a very Good Thing, while also reducing the strain on the public fisc, which the British people have always bitched about.

Not just Line of Succession (which is in fact calculated down past 100+), but no adult further down than #3 has any chance of ever ascending to the Throne. In Harry's case, there are now three small children above him.

This downsizing will happen immediately when Elizabeth II passes. Few Brits are old enough to even remember a time before she was Queen, and debates that are deferred out of respect to her will emerge right away.

I doubt it. If Her Majesty can order an MI6 double-oh to cancel Diana, she can order the same for Meghan Markle even more easily.
