“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

F**k yeah!

Pretty much every country song, ever.

The non-stupid, non-sarcastic, far more AWESOME metal version of this is, naturally, a MANOWAR song:

This band, by the way, is featured in one of the best near-future military fiction books ever written, John Ringo’s The Last Centurion. Pretty much anything written by John Ringo is well worth reading, as I’ve recently (re-)discovered after going through most of his Legacy of the Aldenata books, and now starting on his Troy Rising series.

And I’m given to understand that his Black Tide Rising series comes with its own badass metal playlist.

Metal, blue sci-fi, and stuff getting blowed up but f***ing good. What’s not to like?!

One more for the road:

Most of the playlist is available here: open.spotify.com/user/dariusgarsys/playlist/45mAnyzzB7dEYnLeMWDTi7

You'll have to find e-nomine's "Vater Unser" (angry germans reciting "Our Father" to epic dance beats…) yourself, but plenty of examples on youtube.

      MIND. BLOWN.

I can't quite figure out if that is blasphemy, or brilliance.
