“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

Friday T&A: Borked Edition

Yes, I know, today is not actually Friday. A combination of a busy schedule and sheer laziness has severely cramped my writing this week, even though events have moved forward at an extremely fast pace. It can’t really be helped – as one of you pointed out in the comments not too long ago, this is essentially an unpaid second job, and there are times when I just cannot be arsed to write anything intelligent.

(I do wonder at times whether it might be a good idea just to put the site on hiatus for a couple of weeks – that might happen later this year if I go on vacation somewhere during the summer and just unplug completely from teh innarwebz. We’ll see.)

I could rant a lot about geopolitics right now, but I would rather not, because there is something else far more important that we need to discuss:

Have you noticed of late that NOTHING FREAKING WORKS ANYMORE?!?!?! Especially when it comes to technology?

It isn’t your mind playing tricks on you. If you do a Goolag or Bong search for anything outside of what the Lizard-People determine is “acceptable” in terms of the overall tone of conversation (i.e. anything outside of the infamous “Overton Window”), then the results you get are GARBAGE.

Consider, for example, the article I wrote earlier today, about the sheer levels of hatred evinced toward the USSA around the world. I tried to use Goolag to search for images related to the overall share of the USD when used as a settlement currency in global trade. I couldn’t find ONE useful image or graph.

Or, consider a search I tried to perform just now, about the MANY different sects and practices of the Catholic Church. The Catholics, both rightly and wrongly, criticise Protestants for having tens of thousands of different denominations. Yet, in fact, Catholics themselves have serious sectarian issues within their own church – indeed, I suspect they are heading toward their own internal “Great Schism” between traditionalists and Novus Ordo types at some point in the near future, to name but one conflict over church tradition and canon.

(I have no dog in that particular argument, since I am not a Catholic and have serious problems with their doctrines and especially with their traditions. Nor, however, do I align with any Protestant movement, or with the Orthodox types.)

Yet, if you try to look for reasonable criticisms of the Catholic church’s many different orders, sects, fraternities, interpretations, and so on, you won’t find them very easily – because Goolag’s (and Bong’s) algorithms favour articles designed specifically to top the search rankings.

This problem is getting worse by the day. Try, if you can, to use Goolag or Bong to find anything useful. You will be increasingly hard-pressed to do so.

There are very good reasons for this. A big part of it has to do with the fact that substantial bodies of information are now locked up in places where Goolag’s search algorithm simply cannot reach, as outlined in this video:

But there is another, far more serious and severe, problem at play:

Artificial Intelligence.

If you have not used ChatGPT yet, I assure you that you truly have no idea how crazy things can get. Try logging into the system and have a go at asking ChatGPT to do this:

Give me a research summary of The Walt Disney Company, under the following headings:
– Company Overview
– Financial Analysis, including key ratios (profitability, leverage, Return on Equity)
– Key People
– Corporate Strategy
– Major Recent Headlines (for the past 6 months)

Try it. You will be stunned at how quickly you will get back a reasonably detailed, fairly useful summary of everything going on with DIS. (When the system isn’t overloaded with users and requests, that is.)

The problem is, you will not get back any insights into recent and serious controversies within and around The Walt Disney Company, wherein the company has completely screwed itself thanks to its insistence on pandering to the LGBTQWTFISTHISSHIT crowd of complete and total lunatics, perverts, kiddie-fiddlers, and butt-buggerers.

To do that, you have to go to very different sources of information. You have to go to YouTube, Rumble, and other video-sharing platforms, where you can get that information as undisguised opinion. But you cannot search for it using Goolag or Bong – it won’t show up.

However, the dirty little secret of TEH INNARWEBZ these days is that many of the news articles you read now are actually AI-generated, and are calibrated specifically to rank at the top of Goolag’s algorithms.

When you think about how a Large Language Model (LLM) AI like ChatGPT actually works, you will quickly realise just how dangerous this is. It means that AI chatbots are being over-calibrated on datasets that are self-reinforcing.

In non-technical terms – AIs read data generated by other AIs, to generate more data, which they then feed right back to those same AIs.

It is a self-reinforcing echo-chamber of complete and total misinformation, presented to you, the viewer, as authoritative sources.

If you want real, unfiltered, useful information these days, you cannot trust search engines any longer. You have to go to sources of data outside of these realms. Telegram is great, in this respect – it combines the most useful features of Twatter and Faceborg with a much more secure platform than either. But, you cannot easily search through Telegram to find what you want. Nor can you easily search through Rumble – the search feature on that platform is SHITE.

Beyond this, we have a truly serious problem in the fact that dominant Western tech companies – like Alphabet and Microsoft (the latter is really an Indian company, at this point, but run by American Deep State interests) – have voluntarily cut themselves off from non-Western sources in Russia and China.

The result is a completely Western-dominated (((media)))))))))))) and search narrative that you have to exert tremendous effort to break out of. And, believe me, that effort is TIRESOME.

If you want actual, useful, interesting information, then you need to get away from these “tech” platforms, which are increasingly crufty and useless, and go to newer, more free, more open, and, incredibly, non-Western platforms – like Telegram. (There is, in fact, a Didactic Mind Telegram channel too. And quite a few of my readers get their news and views from that, not Google.)

This is the reality of the modren-day internetz. It assuredly is not what its creators envisioned. They wanted an open platform for information sharing that everyone could use. Instead, what we have today is a “Western” internet, packed full of lies and nonsense, and a “non-Western” internet, which is somewhat better, but is under serious government control.

This state of affairs is going to get worse with time as the West continues to isolate itself from the rest of the world. Western elites think they are encircling and isolating Russia and China – when, in reality, as I demonstrated earlier today, it is the WEST that is being isolated and cut off.

Keep an eye on the quality of your search results, and let me know in the comments what you think of them.

And that is quite enough of that, because my fingers are tired and my brain is sore. Let’s get to the real reason why you are here.

This week’s lady proves that great minds think alike, because both our good friend The Male Brain and I stumbled upon stories about her, entirely independently of each other, and concluded she is quite a looker. This is Kayla Simmons, age 27 from Gainesville, Floriduh. Ever since she “popped” to (inter)national attention, so to speak, she has been touted as “the world’s sexiest volleyball player”.

Apparently, her assets are entirely natural, and cause her quite a lot of issues when playing… whatever it is that volleyball is supposed to be. I leave that up to the experts among us to decide – all I will say is that her face might look at bit square, but the rest of her is pleasingly rounded.

And before anyone asks, I do not have the first clue how good she is as a volleyballist. It is not a sport with which I concern myself, since I care little for any sport that does not involve opponents putting on gloves and pummelling each other. From my perspective, volleyball is only interesting when played on the beach by the Brazilian women’s team.

Happy weekend, all, enjoy the time off.

Eastern Catholic priests are allowed to be married AND are “in communion” with the See of Rome. and there are at least 23 different denominations just within the purview of “Eastern Catholic”.

      so all four terms apply.

Advanced tech anything – from programming to office suite questions, you invariably get the beginner’s version repeated ad infinitum for about 4 or 5 pages of search results. If you’re lucky, you’ll stumble upon an intermediate answer. You have to get extremely specific in your search and start using the minus sign (“-whatyoudon’twantincluded”). It’s made searching for any real answers almost useless. I had to go back to hard bound textbooks from college and grad school to get the answers I was looking for.
