“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

Sunday Scripture: Final Instructions

Don’t worry, lads, this is not some sort of goodbye post or anything. If I have anything to say about it, Didactic Mind is going to be around for a LONG time to come. This is simply a chunk of Scripture from 1st Corinthians right at the end of the book.

12 Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was not at all his will[b] to come now. He will come when he has opportunity.

13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love.

15 Now I urge you, brothers[c]—you know that the household[d] of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints— 16 be subject to such as these, and to every fellow worker and laborer. 17 I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence, 18 for they refreshed my spirit as well as yours. Give recognition to such people.

— 1st Corinthians 16:12-18

The reason why I have chosen this particular bit of Scripture, has to do with a great video by our friend and resident good Christian psychopath, The Dizzle, over at Acts17 Apologetics, in which he points out that manly behaviour means putting women and children first and facing death in their place:

And here is a sermon from Pastor John Macarthur – I always recommend watching his sermons, he’s a tremendous preacher:
