The new E3 2021 HALO Infinite campaign trailer is out, and… well, just watch – though you’ll want to skip through the first 2min of it, because of Bonnie Ross flapping her trap:
First things first…
Wow.
We have waited nearly SEVEN YEARS for a HALO game that truly respected the Master Chief, and his relationship with Cortana. At long last, we have one.
That trailer shows the Master Chief calm, focused, in command, and renewing his connection with his dearest friend and closest companion. In this game, it looks like he is the one in charge – once again, as he bloody well OUGHT to be.
This is HALO, the way we always thought it should be.
It remains to be seen whether the campaign gameplay is as good as the trailers promise it will be. But so far, at least, things are looking very, very positive. It would appear that 343i is finally listening to fans and getting right back to the basics of what made HALO such a phenomenal series.

I haven’t played Halo since Combat Evolved dominated my PC-gaming-during-homeschool-lessons years and years ago. I haven’t read the books or kept up with the IP and I’ve never had an XBox. Don’t even a TV at home.
This Trailer? Gave me the chills.
“You have one bullet against an entire army. What can you do on your own?”
“I told you. It’s enough”
Even takes place in a classic Halo corridor, long and lean and the only way out is through. I’m happy for you Spartans out there.
Exactly. That is precisely what I felt as well.
Microsoft and 343i finally did it. They FINALLY gave us the HALO game that we deserved – an honest and true spiritual successor to HALO 3, with the same emotional impact.
HALO 4 came damned close to delivering that. In many ways, H4 is my favourite game of the entire series. But H5:G really shat all over the series and the legacy of the Master Chief. Now, however, with HI, we might finally get a game worthy of the saga.
