Another week, another Monday, and another tedious effort to drag oneself out of bed and off to work. For those of you on the Eastern Seaboard of the US, today was probably particularly difficult, given the mother of all snowstorms apparently slammed into the country over the weekend and basically took a gigantic dump all over everyone’s front lawns.
If you are in that situation, I hope you are safe, warm, and have power. These snowstorms do hit from time to time – I remember some particularly nasty winter storms from my time living in the US, and they could be genuinely nasty. I recall with particular amusement sitting at home one Saturday during a blizzard, drinking homemade Irish coffee – though, the way I make it, the recipe ends up about three parts Irish and one part coffee…
Speaking of recipes, for this week’s Great Mondaydact Browser Cooker, let’s get started by looking at cooking specialities that have been long since forgotten – some rather unfortunately, others probably with very good reason:

Reading Too Much Into Things
Linkage is good for you:
- Fyodor Lukyanov points to the harsh truth that Drumpfโs antics around Greenland has exposed;
- Sergey Polyetayev notes, correctly, that there is simply no going back to the ex-ante state of things after Trump has shredded through the tissue-thin fabric of EU-US relations;
- Lidia Misnik focuses on the sad and largely unknown history of Finlandโs often very poor relations with Russia, to explain its current rabidly Russophobic tendencies;
- Aleksandra Pavlova shines a spotlight on the repression of the people of Gagauzia by the genuinely authoritarian nutcase leader of Moldova;
- Armen Gasparyan pins the blame for Ukraineโs energy crisis squarely where it belongs โ on Bellendsky the Crackhead Clown of Queef;
- Dmitryi Samoilov analyses the reasons why the youngest generations are avoiding sex and dating altogether;
- Rachel Marsden exposes the extreme masochistic tendencies of the YURPEEN vassal-slave states;
- Henry Johnston unpacks the factors behind the extremely rapid rise in global gold prices over the past 5 years;
- An Anglo who has lived in China for over 20 years, explains what it is like to do so, and why it is a great place to live (according to him, anyway);
- Edward Dutton examines the โAmeliaโ phenomenon in PommieBastardLande, which has backfired SPECTACULARLY against the authorities;
- Microsoftโs (Pajeet) CEO is obsessed with ramming Abominable Intelligence into everything his company does โ whether you like it or not;
- Thanks to the (increasingly rare) good work of God-Emperor 2.0, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is finally going anti-woke in its rulings;
- Supposedly, a private company has come up with a trifoil design for a โsixth-generationโ fighter that it thinks can be produced for less than an F-35;
And some more from Dawn Pine:
- When we were growing up, โHot for Teacherโ was a funny goofy hair-metal song โ but modern female teachers seem to have taken it to a very dark extreme;
- And another example of exactly that same phenomenon;
- It turns out that there might be a โplasma channelโ connecting the Sun to other stars in our galaxy;
- If you have ever wondered why aeroplane seats never actually quite line up with the windows โ there is your answer;
- They say it is an extremely bad idea to allow a fox into a hen-house โ and that is especially true if the fox is a woman and the hen-house is a male prison;
- Here is a graphic showing how rental prices for a 3-bed apartment stack up around the world;
- Koreans hold their celebrities to extremely high, even irrational, standards, and there are cultural reasons for this;
- Somehow, this author manages to point out the truth that Pajeets are hated everywhere, while completely lying about the actual reasons why;
- Ozempic is not a good or safe drug, but airlines love it, because it means far fewer lardasses messing up their delicate drag and fuel calculations;
- If the Sun ever goes on the rag and bitchslaps us with a really epic magnetic storm, we would probably lose our satellite networks in less than 3 days;
