The days are getting shorter, but the season is getting ever more festive. We are, after all, only ten days away from the best day of the year – Christmas. (That is, if you follow the Western calendar. For my Eastern Orthodox brethren that follow the old Julian calendar dates for the key holidays – well, grin and bear it for an extra 7 days, what can I tell you.)
Nonetheless, it IS still Monday, and that DOES mean we all have to get through the remainder of the day. That, of course, is why we have the Great Mondaydact Browser Crusher – possibly the LAST one of this year, because I go on vacation starting Friday afternoon, and I have no idea whether TEH INNARWEBZ will be easily accessible, to the degree needed for these massive compilations, while I am out.
Anyway – as it is indeed Monday, let us mitigate the horrors of it, so to speak, by looking at what used to be the best action-horror series of recent times, before the fifth movie in it completely shat the bed:
I really liked the first two films – the second actually managed the rare feat of being BETTER than the original. The third one was merely OK. The fourth was a big step down, but the fifth was an utter disaster.
And I have to admit, Kate Beckinsale was quite the stunner back in the day – but nowadays, she looks like a 300mph Wall-smash victim.
Still and all, the original two films were great, and that is how I prefer to remember the series.
