Well, here we are at yet another Monday. This one, though, turned out to be a pretty darned good one – because I FINALLY got my entire home hi-fi system up and running. This was a lot trickier than most people would imagine, because the components for it are – and I am not making this up – nearly 20 years old.
I recently bought a really nice new big-ass OLED TV (a 2024 model that was a third of the price of the latest one, so it was a steal). However, AV technology has moved on, and become radically simpler, since I bought my old surround sound system, back in 2007. It did not help that the system had been in storage for 6 years, and I bought it in the US, so it used the 110-130V plugs, whereas I now live in a part of the world that uses the 220-240V standard.
I didn’t want to get rid of everything, because I would not have gotten much money for my old system. And it seemed like a terrible waste to get rid of it without at least putting in the effort to see if it all worked.
So, I embarked on a project to do precisely that.
First I had to buy a step-down transformer, which got the media centre working. Then, I had to buy adapters to allow for optical (digital) audio from the TV, to go into the analogue and digital ports on the back of my entertainment centre. On top of that, I had to get various adapters for my old Nintendo Wii – yes, I still have it – including an HDMI adapter, and a new power brick.
This sounds easy. It wasn’t, and took several weeks – mostly due to extreme laziness and procrastination on my part. But, today, I was able to plug it all in.
AND IT ALL WORKED.
So I am delighted to say, at the start of this Great Mondaydact Browser Killer, that my old Nintendo Wii is now working again, as is my surround-sound system, and the new Xbox, all on a modern TV that delivers a killer picture.
It has been a long, long road to get to this point. My stuff was in storage for YEARS, with no guarantee that it would ever truly work again. But now, it does, and that makes this day a very good one indeed.
So let’s celebrate by remembering all the things that made the Wii so great – and it WAS a legendary game console:
#BasedTucker is Based
The interview with Pezeshkian was interesting – it showed the world that the Iranian President is almost certainly the wrong man for the job, at this point in time. He is a very polite, cultured, affable, and decent – very obviously a family man with a strong sense of faith and patriotism.
But he is NOT a warrior, at a time when Iran NEEDS one in charge.
Apparently, the interview was very poorly received in Iran itself – not because of #BasedTucker, but because of the somewhat limp-wristed performance of the Iranian President.
That interview, by contrast, is absolute dynamite.
And of course there was #BasedTucker’s barnstorming appearance at the TPUSA event:

The Male Brain has some real nuggets for us this week. We start with an interesting interview from TBPN of a Pajeet named Soham Parekh, who basically managed to fool multiple Silicon Valley companies into thinking he was working full-time exclusively for them – but never delivered any actual work:
You can read more about it here, and in many other places. I admit I never heard of him before, but then I do not frequent tech circles. However, I cannot say this behaviour surprises me.
See, I know a few things about Pajeets. I am fully aware of just how low-trust their society is, how untrustworthy and sleazy they themselves can be as people, and how shady Pajeet software engineers, in particular, can be. There is a REASON why so many computer applications and software platforms are observably so much worse today than they were even 5 years ago – the enshittification of everything, has a very great deal to do with handing responsibility, without accountability, to low-trust, relatively low-IQ Pajeets, who make a gigantic mess of everything.

BRITAIN IS BROKEN, and it is in imminent danger of total societal collapse.
My contacts in the country indicate a simmering, seething RAGE within it, of tens of millions of White British people who can see full well that they have been disenfranchised and ignored for decades. They are quietly furious, in that long-suffering British way, at seeing their cities turn into multi-culti shitholes, full of Wakandans and sand-niggers, and they understand, at some level, that there is no way to vote their way out of the problem.
They still maintain some level of hope that Reform UK, under Farage, might make a difference. They do not realise, yet, that he is nothing more than another globalist tool – just one who makes a lot of sense much of the time.
Once they see through it, and once Farage does a full Drumpf and goes back on all of his promises, then there will likely be open rebellion. And at that point… well, we have no idea what could happen.

The President of Belarus – who is really a Dictator for life, and who makes absolutely no bones about that fact – Aleksandr Lukashenko, met with the former leader of Moldova, Igor Dodon, and spoke at length (in Russian) with some advice to his colleague about Moldova’s future:
The transcript goes something like this:
Here’s the advice to you from the seasoned politician: do not rush to join unions [the matter is about the EU]. No one is waiting for you anywhere. You’ve seen how Europeans were in love with Ukraine. But once Ukraine wanted to transport grain through the EU last year, it was blocked. Ukraine could not supply grain even to Africa. Based on the information we receive. Do you think Moldovans will be welcome there and will enjoy a special treatment? Your agricultural produce, wine and other goods will face the same challenges. When you were president, you had to deal with all this. I remember when you had to ‘cut a window’ to the east, to Belarus, to Russia so that the people of Moldova could live. Therefore, my advice to you: appreciate your land. There is no more beautiful place in the world than Moldova. That’s what I have thought since Soviet times. Very beautiful, very kind, very decent people. I wish there were fewer problems there. If something depends on us (both in the current situation and in the future), please tell us; we will stand with our friends.
Uncle Sasha really does have quite a way with words – and not just in terms of what he says, but how he speaks. I genuinely enjoy listening to his Russian. He speaks with a lucidity and a fluidity that I rarely find, even among native Russian speakers – and his words have an expressive quality that is really quite remarkable.
Even The Putin, whose speeches get far less credit than they deserve, is not nearly as charismatic and capable a public speaker as Uncle Sash.

Your Science is F***ing Weird moment of the week is from Dawn Pine, and it is all about how people rarely remember anything they learn from therapy:
Finding ways to address the memory and habit formation elements of health interventions doesn’t need to be overly complicated. Sometimes it’s as simple as a carefully worded text message.
Harvey’s ongoing sleep research, backed by the National Institutes of Health, focuses on memory and habit change that can lead to better sleep. In one study, her team sends participants text messages with cues, reminders and follow-ups to understand what drives habit change and, ultimately, better health.
“At 10 p.m. I will dim the lights and put my phone down,” said one automated message, setting the goals.
A morning message asks if the goals were met. If so, participants were rewarded with a fun fact: “Did you know dolphins and whales sleep with only half of their brain at a time so they can still swim during sleep?” If not, they were encouraged to try again the next night.
Early results are encouraging, she said, adding that it would be important to also study how similar interventions could scale into mental and physical health settings.
“We can come up with augmentations that could be applied before a session, in the middle of a session or at the end of a session that are not costly,” Harvey said.
“They don’t have side effects, but they’re effective at improving outcomes.”
Behind those improvements is a commitment to basic science, she said. Her work on memory is based on cognitive science and education research, and habit formation is deeply tied to social psychology.
Breaking down research silos, like she’s attempting to do with sleep research, is a pathway toward improving patient outcomes more broadly.
“Unless we’re paying attention to and adhering to what’s being found in those other fields, we just won’t be effective or as effective,” she said. “It’s like a pipeline of science at every step.”
As for the parenting class she took, Harvey said there were valuable lessons. But many of them faded from memory and never became second nature.
“It’s sort of funny though, isn’t it? Despite all that studiousness, only a few months later, I’m struggling to recall. This, I guess, is the whole point.”
Your long read of the week is from Peter Henselaer, about how the FUSA fought, and lost, the war against Iran:
The infrastructure and economy have been permanently damaged. It is impossible to predict how much time the country will need to rebuild if the ceasefire holds. Israel’s economy has not only been suffering since this conflict, but was already not in the best of shape in October 2023. In the last two years – i.e. up to June 13, 2025 – up to 1.5 million Israelis have already left the country – a catastrophe for a population of just 9 million. If you also take into account the fact that it is mainly those people who can afford to leave a country due to the financial circumstances, this figure is even more alarming, as well-educated, wealthy Israelis who would be essential for reconstruction are now missing.
A further indication of how disastrous the situation is is the travel ban imposed by Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev – a comparison with Ukraine comes to mind. The information is vague, but the exit ban is in force, even if no details can be found on the website of the Israeli embassy in Berlin.
The demographic consequences of this exodus could be fatal for Israel. Official Israel is always keen to portray the country as a land of Jews, in which the majority of residents are Jews. However, millions of Arabs also live in the country. Their birth rate is significantly higher than that of Jewish Israelis. The waves of refugees following the war and the demographic development will sooner or later result in more non-Jews (Muslims, Christians) living in the country than Jews, which will foreseeably render the Zionist strategy absurd.
In addition, there is probably no passport in the world at the moment that is less attractive. The losers will be those who only have an Israeli passport. It is also difficult to imagine that anyone will move to this promised land. Who wants to live in a country where over 50% of the population is in favor of genocide?
Linkage is good for you:
- Dmitryi Kornyev explains how Russian supremacy in long-range hypersonic stand-off strike weapons has rendered nuclear weapons largely superfluous as a deterrent;
- Dmitryi Trenin points out the inescapable fact that the Banderastan War WILL expand beyond Ukraine’s borders, one way or another;
- Patrick Lawrence is deeply pessimistic about the possibility that Drumpf will be able to extricate the FUSA from the Banderastan War, which HE NOW OWNS, in full;
- The Ukrainians have actually admitted what most of us have known for some time now – that they are NOT negotiating in good faith, and cannot be trusted;
- Matthieu Bruge unpacks the collapse of France’s idiotic ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity, into a system even more corrupt and broken than that of the USSR;

- Timofey Bordachyev shows how Russia has turned into a major power in the very country that once helped destroy its empire;
- Farhad Ibragimov expands upon this point about Afghanistan, showing how Russia became a trusted partner in the region WITHOUT violence or invasion;
- Back when I bought my Lenovo laptop 3 years ago, giving it 32GB RAM was hugely expensive – but nowadays, even that much might not be sufficient;

And some more from Dawn Pine:
- Content creators in PommieBastardLande want to be recognised as legitimate businesspeople – good luck with that, given the Labourtards in charge;
- Much to our amusement, it turns out the Norks are sneaking fake IT workers into the FUSA – proving, yet again, that Amerikhastan doesn’t have a border;
- The current DNI has an eye-watering salary as a very senior intelligence official – but still got her email account and passwords hacked;
- Just when you thought flying couldn’t get any worse, Snakes on a Muthaf***in’ Plane turned out to be a real thing;
- A female powerlifting influencer apparently succumbed to ‘roid rage, and chimped out – look at her picture, she is absolutely NOT a natty;
- Changes in the Earth’s rate of axial rotation will make the summer seem a bit shorter – world ends, news at 10;
- A woman who married a man twice her age – when she was a teenager – did the right thing, sort of, to become a stay-at-home mum;
- Abominable Intelligence may never reach its full potential without adopting a human form – so, basically, we should build T-800 bodies for killer AIs, really;
- Financial responsibility and savings guru Dave Ramsey has some genuinely superb advice for you that will make you free and happy;
- Some famous singer paid for her entire crew to go to therapy, which is either very kind or very silly, and definitely very female;

It might be a lot less dangerous, if it actually, y’know, WORKED. But the FUSA is at least two generations behind the Russians, and probably one behind the Chinese, in terms of their AD capabilities. None of their best systems actually work well, or even regularly. The PATRIOT, the THAAD, the Arrow, and the Aegis systems, all have serious problems with accuracy, reliability, and – most importantly – cost-effectiveness.
As it is now, though, this is nothing more than a giant boondoggle.
And Dark Seas talks about the very troubled Russian Kuznetsov-class aircraft carrier:
The Russians are apparently considering mothballing and retiring the ship entirely, even after it has spent YEARS in drydock being repaired and upgraded. The official reason is because aircraft carriers have gone from being tools of power projection, to big fat juicy targets for hypersonic long-range strike weapons – and that is true.
The unofficial reason, of course, is that the ship was a disaster from start to finish.
It is not as if the Russians do not know how to build aircraft carriers, by the way. Their Kiev-class conventionally-powered carriers were more than capable for their time. And they have some really innovative designs for proposed Lamantin-class and Shtorm-class nuclear-powered supercarriers.
But… the age of the supercarrier is conclusively OVER. The only thing we need to prove it now, is for the US to lose one of its priceless carriers in a hot war with Russia, China, or Iran.

Right, here are your Instathots to get the week off to a suitably absurd start. First up, Heather Kay from Liverpool, PommieBastardLande, age unknown, with a strong presence on OnlyFools (of course). If you know anything about Liverpudlians, you know they are completely incomprehensible – their accent is among the weirdest in the country.
And, second, for those of you who might suffer from Yellow Fever, as it were, Fanny Chen, age 23 (supposedly), who is actually from Amerikhastan.
OK, that’s all, back to work now, boys.

i’d say Chen is part white. real orientals / mongoloids have flat faces when viewed from the side. Caucasians have a middling prognathic profile and tend to be the thinnest when viewed from the front. Negroes have maximal prognathic jaws and very wide nasal cavities.

The Wii is indeed a great system. I think of it as the last 6th-gen system since it doesn’t really fit in with the 7th gen HD twins (360, PS3). I have a huge soft spot for both it and the GameCube because they were the post-college and college consoles, respectively, that I played the most with my friends. It’s also the last CRT-friendly console since you can force the Virtual Console games to output at 240p.
I’d highly recommend jailbreaking yours. It’s stupidly easy to do, requiring only a SD card and 10-20 minutes of configuration, very hard to mess up, and unlocks tons of fun features like emulators and ripping games to a hard drive.
https://wii.hacks.guide/
The biggest, however, is the ability to shut off the deflicker filter that’s on by default in every game, which makes even component output look like trash. It is a night and day difference.

A good upscaler will also help with a flat panel setup. I recommend RetroTINK products. There’s one for every price level from entry to ultra high-end, and Mike Chi is constantly adding new features through firmware updates. The 5X is a fundamentally different product now than what it was at launch.
