“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

Friday T&A: Bolognese Edition

Things have been extremely busy this week, as I have pretended to be on vacation. I was also rather lazy yesterday, not to mention tired, after a couple of hours of hard skiing, so this one is again late. Nonetheless, I am slowly catching up on writing and poasting.

I have, of course, been keeping up with current events, to the extent possible, and I did see clips of Brandon’s disastrous performance at the first Presidential debate, after the fact. The more I see and read of the reactions – and of FJB’s stuttering, halting, freezing, and glitching – the more I am convinced that Our Beloved And Dreaded Supreme Dark Lord (PBUH) Voxemort the Most Malevolent and Terrible, is correct. The whole thing was a setup.

The goal was to get Brandon levered out of office, somehow, and substitute in a chosen surrogate. Odumbass, the man I believe is controlling Brandon behind the scenes, does not appear to be happy at the way his proxy has run things – not least with respect to the Banderastan War. In my view, I think he wants to engineer a takeover of power, that would allow a proxy much more directly linked to his own ideology, into the Oval Office.

The question that interests me, though, is: how is it possible that Obarmy miscalculated so thoroughly?

If, as I hypothesise, the Obama faction is in strong control of the Daemoncrat Party, and Brandon is nothing much more than an Obama sock-puppet… how then it is possible that Odumbass – who, for his COLOSSAL faults, understood that confrontation with Russia was a losing game – allowed his proxy to get so out of control?

I am not sure. But I suspect it is because of the complex nature of power in the Executive branch of the United States.

People need to remember that the US President is not some all-controlling monolith. It is only when you actually have to manage people on your own, and you have to exist as part of a management structure, that you realise just how hard it is to run any sort of organisation larger than about 3 people.

The job becomes too big to hold in any one man’s hat, once you scale up to an organisation of perhaps 20. You need staff, channels, and delegates. Inevitably, those same staffers accumulate their own power structures.

When you get to an organisation of the size, power, complexity, and bureaucracy of the US Federal government – which has something like 3 MILLION employees in it – and the various contractors, offshoots, State governments, and innumerable myriad other organisations that feed off the FUSA government… well, the dimensions of the management problem become truly mindboggling.

We must add to this the impact of having a weak and controlled sock-puppet, who nonetheless has some amount of autonomy. Obarmy is not, after all, living in Brandon’s skin – at least, I hope not, because then the possibilities become too disturbing to contemplate.

When you have a weak man in charge of a sprawling bureaucracy, the various bureaucrats begin accumulating their own power bases, and acting on their own.

And when those people are themselves corrupt and evil, and are then exposed to the highly corrosive influences of power, then you have a government that goes unstuck and out of control very quickly.

This, in my view, is the reality of the US government today. It is a series of loosely connected fiefdoms, with no strong vision or centre of power. In many ways, modern Amerikhastan mirrors the late-stage USSR, and even Russia in the 1990s, when a succession of weak, old, sick, feeble men took power over a gigantic bureaucracy, and could not control it.

If you compare and contrast Russia with the FUSA today, the comparison could not possibly be more stark.

Today, Russia has a leader with a clear vision, an extremely strong and robust power base (the Russian military – which has saved the country itself repeatedly in its thousand-year history), and exceptionally well-managed alignment of all branches of government toward that vision. Yet, The Putin is not all-powerful, and does not pretend to be. He brings in capable subordinates on the basis of merit, gives them plenty of room to prove themselves, and ruthlessly YEETS them if they prove unable to manage the demands of the job.

This is the polar opposite to what we see in the FUSA, where incompetence and stupidity result in promotions, and competence, hard work, skill, tenacity, and brilliance result in penalties – or worse.

it is not difficult to figure out which civilisation is likely to win in a long-term struggle of strategic visions, operational models, and tactical manoeuvres.

And with that in mind, let us turn to this week’s lovely lady.

This here is Eleonora Bertoli, age 28 from Bologna, Italy. She is some sort of model, TV presenter, actress, and influenza, who lives in Dubai. She is also living proof of La Sophia‘s legendary (and probably apocryphal) dictum, “everything you see, I owe to spaghetti”.

As we always say around here, we rather like the Eyeties and their La Dolce Vita, what with their insistence on enjoying the simple pleasures in life – like good food and good wine. Ms Bertoli there is assuredly living proof of the benefits associated with that kind of mindset.

Happy weekend, chaps.
