“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

Monday morning cryptid chasing

by | Jan 29, 2024 | Mondays | 4 comments

Oh here we go, yet again, back to Monday… And, it must be said, a rather gloomy one, where I am. At least the days are getting longer, ever so slowly, and eventually we WILL get back to summer. But, in the meantime, we still have to tolerate days where you go out in the morning when it is still dark, and then it is dark again when you get home.

All things told, winter is a gloomy and miserable business, and a wintery Monday is just the cherry on top of a crap-sundae.

Fortunately, that is why the Great Mondaydact Browser Muncher is here. and boy do we have a packed one for you today.

Recently I discovered a very interesting channel concerning what one might call “cryptids” – basically, creatures of unknown origin that may or may not exist. (That is actually putting it somewhat politely. The impolite version is, “drug-addled nightmarish visions of losers, loners, and stoners”.) What Lurks Beneath has some great stuff that you can delve into at your leisure. Some of the stories are outrageously implausible – but others are NOT, at all, and might indicate a world beyond the strictly rational that we ought to take a lot more seriously than we actually do.

So here are a few videos to keep you transfixed and occupied today – the horror movie fans among you will dig these:

That one is genuinely very unsettling. I listened to it a few weeks back and found myself believing the guy telling the story about the skinskiftig (shapeshifter) involved. I do think it is a distinct possibility – remote, but possible.

Truth be told, if you had pointed out to me the possibility of unknown monsters and strange creatures existing in our reality just 5 years ago, I would have laughed at you. But, once you actually read the Bible carefully, you will come across all sorts of very strange, and extremely dangerous, entities that you cannot rationally explain. (See e.g. the “goat-demon”, Azazel.)

From a Biblical perspective, these strange creatures – and even UFOs/UAPs – are well within the realm of the possible. Check out this superb two-part cut of the lectures of the late Rob Skiba, Dr. Chuck Missler, and Dr. Michael S. Heiser:

The second part, in particular, is truly fascinating. There is a richness and a depth to the Bible that you have to really explore to understand and enjoy, and it takes people with real, serious scholarly chops to do it.

Sadly, all three of those men are no longer with us – and believe me, we are very much the poorer for that fact.

The Mighty God-Emperor

His Most Illustrious, Noble, August, Benevolent, and Legendary Celestial Majesty, the God-Emperor of Mankind, Donaldus Triumphus Magnus Astra, the First of His Name, the Lion of Midnight, may the Lord bless him and preserve him, has threatened huge new tariffs on China (warning – Washington Compost link) if re-elected (to the position that he actually legitimately occupied all along anyway):

Former president Donald Trump is weighing options for a major new economic attack on China if reelected, considering plans that are widely viewed as likely to spark a global trade war.

Publicly, the GOP front-runner has endorsed downgrading China’s trade status with the United States — a move that would lead tariffs between the world’s two largest economies to skyrocket. Revoking China’s status as a “most favored nation” for trade — which is applied to almost all countries the United States trades with — could lead to federal tariffs on Chinese imports of more than 40 percent, according to one analysis. Trump has floated imposing a 10 percent tariff on nearly all $3 trillion in annual imports from all countries, including China.

Privately, Trump has discussed with advisers the possibility of imposing a flat 60 percent tariff on all Chinese imports, according to three people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to relay private conversations.

All these options would lead to enormous disruptions to the U.S. and global economies that would far surpass the impact of the trade wars of Trump’s first term, economists of both parties say. Although he often praised Xi Jinping as president and signed a 2020 trade deal with China, Trump now repeatedly bashes Beijing on the campaign trail and has promised a tougher stance than President Biden.

Trump’s determination to ratchet up trade fights with Beijing reflects the emerging economic stakes of the 2024 election, as the former president appears increasingly sure of winning the GOP nomination. Trump has floated some fanciful new ideas for his second term — like building “Freedom Cities” in different parts of the United States with flying cars — but has primarily focused on intensifying policies he pursued during his first term, such as a severe immigration crackdown, cuts to corporate taxes and disruptive new tariffs on U.S. trading partners.

Keep in mind, that is The Washington Compost, therefore a Deep-State neoliberal shitheel that deserves to be shut down and have every last one of its whorenalists thrown out onto the streets to live out their lives in abject poverty.

(There are not many people I truly, viscerally hate. Whorenalists from Western mainstream media outlets, though… I absolutely LOATHE them, and make no secret about the intensity of my hatred. The reason why should be obvious – when you make a profession out of lying to people at the behest of corporate and government masters, yet claim to be a righteous truth-teller, then I have a serious problem with you. Better for a whorenalist to become an actual prostitute, and be open about it, than to profess being a “reporter”, these days.)

Inevitably, the idiot who wrote this story, missed out on what happened when the God-Emperor was last in power. As I said on Telegram when commenting on this story:

Yeah, but remember what the God-Emperor ACTUALLY did when he was in office. He used the threat of massive tariffs to get the Chinks to the negotiating table – and he drove a hard bargain.

But – and this is crucial – he stuck to his end of the deal.

Everything I have seen indicates the Chinese actually like Trump, or at least respect him, because they know he is a businessman who wants to make deals – not merely threaten, bully, and blow shit up. That is very much in line with what the Chinese like to do themselves. They always take the long view.

You cannot trust a Chink farther than you can throw him – but you CAN trust that he will think ahead by decades, in terms of what is best for him and his race. And that is the basis for any negotiation with them. You can expect them to screw you over once the deal is signed, of course, but you can always work with and around that, as long as you keep the long-term objective in mind.

Trump understood, and still understands, that fact. The same cannot be said of the current crop of assclowns running US foreign and trade policy into the ground.

#BasedTucker is Based

Dawn of Battle

The Male Brain has lots of stuff for us this week. We start off with a few videos. First up, The Babylon Bee puts forth a set of predictions that should have everyone very, very worried, because they tend to be right quite a lot of the time:

If you thought humans are the only animals on Earth that act like assholes, you would be very wrong – whales can be colossal dicks too, and not just literally:

What do you suppose would happen if Rog from Honest Ads tried out for an episode of Shark Tank?:

Mind-Expanding Drugs

Your General Knowledge Video of the Week is from Dawn Pine, and looks at the importance of the Earth’s axial tilt (and corresponding “wobble”), which has far-reaching implications for the planet’s climate and weather patterns:

Death Smiles At Us All…

Poli-Ticking Off

Mark Dice comments on the unfolding crisis at the southern border in Texas, which may or may not lead to Civil War 2.0:

As I have said before, I do not believe this, in and of itself, will actually spark off the next fratricidal war in the FUSA. But it is definitely one more chest loaded onto the back of an already creaking and shaking camel.

The very-thoroughly-married couple at Redacted points out just how hard the Queef Regime is trying to hide the colossal losses the Ukies have suffered in the Banderastan War:

PJW cannot help but laugh at the sheer stupidity of Western military leaders, who are panicking their peoples into believing they need to prepare for conscription to go to war against Russia:

The reality is, the entire combined West would last about a month against the full power of the Russian military. They are using barely 20% of their army in Russia right now, and their Aerospace Forces are running bombing, SEAD, recon, and CAP sorties at an operational tempo that no Western air force can come anywhere close to matching.

Better by far to accept the Russians have outclassed and outmatched the West, and seek an honourable peace. The Russians have no desire to invade the West – in fact, and I can tell you this from personal experience, they regard the West with increasing contempt and distaste.

They think you lot are a bunch of crazy effete weirdos who are stupid enough to believe men can be women, and children can have two fathers (or mothers).

Personally, I agree with them.

The West, in its present form, is lost. Russia is the Ark that will preserve all that was best about it. The only way back is for the West to purge itself of all the venality, stupidity, and weirdness – not to mention, ALL of the illegals who have come over, and more than a few of the legals too – and rediscover its ancient roots.

Lord Razor of the Fist Clan explains, as only he possibly can, the extraordinary implications of the Kari Lake recording, wherein she absolutely did the right thing and refused to take the ticket:

Rulings from the Bench

Judge Nap has been busy trying to analyse world events, but the speed at which they unfold makes this difficult, to say the least. We start with Col. Douglas Macgregor, who comments on the severe overstretch facing the FUSA military:

LTC Tony Shaffer answers a rhetorical question about whether the FUSA can actually fight a serious war in the Middle East (obviously not):

Capt. Matthew Hoh points out the assault on free speech (not that there ever really was such a thing) from all sides in the current climate:

Alistair Crooke explains the calculus running through the Israeli leadership’s heads, as they struggle to find any form of success in their current war in Gaza:

If the Israelis are crazy and/or stupid enough to try to expand their current, flailing, campaign into southern Lebanon, AGAIN, then they really deserve whatever they get. That will probably result in the collapse of the state of Israel – which is what Arab elites in the region are already discussing, as they speak amongst themselves about a future without Israel.

Larry Johnson & Ray McGovern analyse the International Court of Justice’s injunctions against Israel, which (correctly, in my view) stop short of calling Israeli actions a full-blown genocide (because they aren’t genocidal – they are “merely” an ethnic cleansing):

Prof. Jeffrey Sachs explains the ICJ ruling from an internationalist perspective:

Prof. John Mearsheimer is not sanguine about the prospects of Israel resolving its current dilemmas:

Semper Fi, Do or Die!

Maj. Scott Ritter has returned from his second big tour of Russia, having visited Crimea, the Krasnodar region, and many other very interesting places, and has a lot to say about the experience:

Дед Сварливый Говорит!

Grandpa Grumpuss grumps, grumpily, about the recent statements by Sergey CHADrov, the world’s greatest living diplomat:

Timeo Danaos Et Donna Ferentes…

The good gentlemen of The Duran try to figure out just what the hell is going on behind the scenes in Queef, as the various factions of the Banderite regime start to eat each other:

The Bald Truth

Brian Berletic of The New Atlas explains Russia’s immense advantages, and rapid innovations, in the field of drone warfare:

This is particularly relevant given the recent news that Rostec’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) division, i.e. the bit of the Russian military-industrial complex that makes aircraft and aerial drones, will soon start serial production of the S-70 Okhotnik heavy combat drone (see below for link).

That S-70 is essentially a drone wingman for the Su-57 and eventually the Su-75, capable of carrying a very heavy missile and bomb load, and also capable of running interference for its controlling aircraft – even sacrificing itself, if necessary, for the survival of the human pilot.

This is something the FUSA DOES NOT HAVE, and will not have for years – and that is before we get to the fact that the F-35, despite its impressive datalinks, simply cannot operate at the same level or tempo as the Su-57.

Bad Medicine

Dr. John Campbell and Prof. Robert Clancy look at not-vaxx injuries, and the efficacy of ivermectin:

Dr. Suneel Dhand tells you how to avoid the very unpleasant consequences of dealing with the healthcare system:

Once you understand that doctors, on balance, are NOT actually in the business of healing people, the world of medicine becomes VASTLY easier to understand. I say that as the grandson and nephew of doctors – don’t trust them, unless they have actually earned that trust.

Warriors of Faith

Tha Dizzle and the great Dr. Robert Spencer sit down to discuss the history behind the Ayodhya temple – long and bloody as it is:

Al-Fadi from CIRA International and Brother Mel do a deep analysis of the use of “MHMD” in the Koran – and conclude these 4 references point very clearly to “the praised one”, i.e. Jesus of Nazareth:

Christian Prince simply shreds through two Abdools, both of whom seem to be gluttons for punishment, because they keep coming back to get spanked – both Abbas and Ali are longstanding repeat idiots, who have called up CP many times in the past, and have been smashed every time:

Sam Shamoun explains the daemonic nature of Izzlam to a former Muslima, who ends up leaving that death-cult for the healing grace of the Lord Jesus:

Manly Men of Manliness

Terrence Popp puts out a classic about the true cost of hookup culture in the modren dating environment:

In this, the MGTOWs actually are in full agreement with Christians. (But ONLY in this aspect.)

The Bible states very plainly that you must not join your body with that of a prostitute – in both the Old and New Testaments. So, if you are doing it, STOP already, because it is idiotic.

Joker from Better Bachelor tries out a new format while trying to make sense of the world around us, and the disaster that is the modern woman:

Burn Paedowood to the Ground

Midnight’s Edge reckons Masters of the Universe: Revolution is actually better than the previous season of MOTU: Revelation, but it is still not good enough to make up for that shitpile:

Keep in mind, this is because the same asshats who ran the previous season into the ground, are still on board for this one:

I grew up with the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon series. For me, that was the highlight of Sunday mornings. I had the action figures, I had a model Castle Greyskull, and I truly loved the show.

As far as I am concerned, therefore, what Netherflix and Kevin Smith did to that universe, is unforgivable. I have never watched the MOTU reboot, and I almost certainly never will.

Overlord Dicktor Van Doomcock brings us some inside scoops – though, keep in mind, he’s the QAnon of the entertainment media, so take all this with a big helping of salt – about the absolute state of the upcoming Rey Palpatine film:

That is almost certainly going to be another colossal flop for the House of the Devil Mouse. And I couldn’t care less about it. Let STAR WARS die already. It is simply DONE.

Gary from Nerdrotic notes that Amazog is plainly keen on doubling down on stupid with the next season of DEM RANGZ O’ POWAH!!!:

Lord, here we go with another season of WE WUZ ALVES ‘N’ SHIET!!!

The Critical Drinker explains the problem with multiverses:

It was a great idea back when DC Comics did it with Crisis on Two Earths, and then the landmark Crisis on Infinite Earths event. Today, it is a tired, boring, stupid, pointless trope.

We hate on Hollywood a lot around here – and rightly so – but I have to admit, the new Shogun movie looks AWESOME:

I read the book more than 10 years ago, and I still remember it being truly outstanding. It will be interesting to see how well they actually adapt it.

Reading Too Much Into Things

Your Science is F***ing Weird moment of the week explains that your perception of search engine results getting worse is not your imagination – it really is happening:

It appears to be true: Search engines like Google are getting worse.

These days, search engine results are filled with spam content, according to a new paper from a team of researchers in Germany. And it’s making it harder for people to access helpful information online — the core function of the internet.

The researchers searched for product reviews that “offer tests and purchase recommendations.” They spent a year analyzing almost 7,400 of these queries on three search engines: Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo.

Their baseline finding was that search engines have “significant problems” with affiliate links — paid-for links that refer a customer to a seller. While the number of product reviews online that contain affiliate links isn’t huge, the researchers said these reviews are overrepresented in search engine results.

The problem with affiliate links boils down to “trust,” the researchers said.

“Since users often trust their search engines already, the affiliate inherits this trust as a byproduct of a high ranking,” the authors wrote. But this also creates tension between affiliates, search providers, and users because affiliates are more likely to design web pages to optimize their rankings as opposed to investing in higher-quality product reviews.

Though webpages that have more affiliate links and are more optimized are more likely to come up in search results, on average, they also “show signs of lower text quality,” the researchers said.

And as content generated by AI continues to flood the internet, the researchers said search engine results are likely to get worse.

You can find the actual paper online here, for free – ironically, using Google Scholar.

Your long read of the week is from The Male Brain, and looks at the realities of modern Izzlamist terrorism – conducted by the scions of wealthy and well-connected families, not poor kids in sandals:

Initial academic research seemed to support conventional wisdom that poverty and terrorism were fundamentally linked. Preliminary findings on economic recessions and expansions, indeed, concluded that economic contractions increase the probability of terrorist activities and that attack venues were characterized by low economic openness. However, serious flaws were soon exposed in these works as critical researchers pointed out that these studies focused on places that were the locations of attacks (i.e., the targets) and not the actual places or nations where the terrorists were from (i.e., the origins of the perpetrators). Newer, more refined research, such as work done by the economists Krueger and Laitin, sprang up in response. These new studies on the macroeconomic-terrorism relationship reached the opposite conclusion: The GDP per capita in the terrorist’s country of origin doesn’t seem to affect terrorism frequency. In fact, the findings of these analyses suggested that when a nation’s GDP per capita improved, they were more likely to produce terrorist perpetrators.

A look at history seems to support these findings. According to several measures of economic wellness, the beginning of the year 2000 showed the economy of the Palestinian territories at its best. That is the same year, in the fall of 2000, following the failure of the Camp David Summit, when Palestinians began a terrorist campaign known today as the second intifada. The massive rise in bloody terrorist attacks, though often depicted as evidence of how abject Palestinian living conditions were, actually began in a time of economic strength for the Palestinians. As violence rose, however, the economic strength of the Palestinian territories appeared to decrease. In 2005 when, after the deaths of over 1,000 Israelis and 3,000 Palestinian civilians and militants, the violence of the intifada began to subside, the Palestinian economy was at one of its weakest phases in recent history.

Two main conclusions can be drawn from the available evidence: Economic conditions and education levels at the individual level did not appear to affect terrorism, and GDP per capita in an individual’s country of origin does not affect terrorism frequency. By the mid-2000s, most experts and scholars seemed to abandon the conventional view of terrorist roots. Yet a new theory emerged about the link between poverty, education and terrorism that attempted to incorporate this new information.

In 2005, Ethan Bueno de Mesquita from the University of Chicago produced a theory that focused on the relationship between the supply and demand of terrorists. According to Bueno de Mesquita, a huge group of individuals wanted to be terrorists, and “… if terror organizations select suicide terrorists from a large supply of volunteers, they are able to choose better qualified suicide terrorists under bad economic conditions.” The terrorist groups, given their choice, would select individuals from better economic background or those who have obtained higher levels of education. This premise, that terrorist groups get to pick from large amounts of volunteers appears to mainly come from anecdotal evidence. Bueno de Mesquita quotes a senior member of Hamas as saying the group’s “biggest problem is the hordes of young men who beat on our doors, clamoring to be sent.” In short, there is a large “supply” of potential terrorists who want to fight perceived injustices which allows terrorist groups to screen these applicants and select higher quality candidates, or those with higher education and financial levels.

As Bueno de Mesquita’s screening theory gained traction in some circles, two key studies investigated the general premise that quality of terrorists is related to their wealth, age, and education. In 2007, researchers Benmelech and Berrebi found that older, more experienced, and more highly educated terrorists, or higher quality terrorists, tend to kill more individuals, cause more damage when assigned to key targets, and are more likely to evade authorities. To further this research and possibly draw relations to societal level economic conditions, an additional study focused on the relationship between economic conditions and the characteristics of terrorists. Benmelech, Berrebi and Klor found that worsening economic conditions in one quarter (such as greater unemployment) increases the probability that the next quarter’s suicide terrorist is better educated, older and more experienced. These studies became the first to indicate that while worsening economic conditions do not increase the number of attacks, it was potentially correlated to an increase in the effectiveness and sophistication of suicide terrorist attacks. These findings appeared to support the Bueno de Mesquita theory that terrorist groups screened for higher quality candidates.

However, the latest research raises some new questions about the comprehensiveness of Bueno de Mesquita’s model. In 2015, a new Palestinian terrorist campaign erupted. The attacks were substantially different than previous waves of Palestinian violence as the assailants typically worked alone instead of within a greater terrorist group. Because of this individualistic terrorist threat, the campaign is often referred to as the “Lone Wolf” intifada. The violence subsided in 2017, and an ongoing study by Berrebi and Weissbrod is working to analyze the characteristics of the individuals involved. So far, the study has found that while there are many high school dropouts in this new kind of self-selected terrorism, there are also many who are highly educated and from affluent backgrounds. Overall, both the number of highly educated professionals and university graduates among the terrorists, and the number coming from wealthier backgrounds, are well above average. What the research suggests is that although terrorist organizations may eliminate the lowest quality terrorist candidates, as claimed by Bueno de Mesquita and others, separate factors beyond the screening process must play a part in forming the connection between higher education, wealth, and terrorism.

What is clear by now is that nearly all current research shows that terrorists tend to be wealthier and more educated but we still need to test new theories to find out why. If Bueno de Mesquita’s screening model isn’t the entire story, one alternative theory could be that the educational content could itself be radicalizing, thus the more schooling someone receives in a given society the more likely it becomes that they could engage in terrorist acts. Another possible theory is that terrorism is a modern, deadlier form of political protests and revolts that have, throughout history, often been started by the intellectual communities. A third alternative may be that individuals from lower socio-economic backgrounds do not have the luxury of participating in revolt as they must worry about feeding their families and the struggles of everyday life.

MUH RUSHIAN KAHLOOOOOOOZHUN!!!

The Neo-Tsar and his Belorussian counterpart, Uncle Sasha, attended the opening ceremony for an incredible memorial to the victims of the Siege of Leningrad on Saturday, the 80th anniversary of the full lifting of the blockade:

Westerners simply cannot comprehend the scale of the atrocities that Russia suffered under the Nazi invasion. Over a MILLION people died in the 900-day Siege of Leningrad alone – out of 27 MILLION Soviet citizens overall. At least 20 million Russians died in what they call the Great Patriotic War.

This is a level of horror that is impossible for Westerners to understand. To put it into perspective, as LRFotS MK put it in a comment on my Telegram channel:

Assuming official numbers, the Russian people averaged a holocaust every year during their time in WW2. And we all know how upset our Jewish friends are over it. Now multiply by four.

That is absolutely correct. The Soviets lost 11 million soldiers, and another 16 million civilians, during that war. Just about ever single family in Russia, that had ancestors living in Russia at that time, lost someone in that war.

NOW do you understand why taking Putin seriously, when he talks about Russia eradicating Nazism forever, is so vitally important for the survival of the West?

The Western world cannot survive a direct conflict with Russia. Not only will the West lose, but it will find itself economically devastated to the point of collapse.

Better by far to accept and understand that Russophobia is irrational and stupid in the extreme, and throw out the idiots who think it is a good idea, than to suffer the consequences of an unwinnable and pointless war against the Russians – who, let us be clear, DO NOT WANT war with the West, but will fight to the end if they have to do so.

Didact, I love your site, but I am not going to sleep for weeks because of these damn cryptid videos. That said, keep ‘em coming. I’ve eaten this kind of stuff up since I was a kid.

I also joke that me and MrsUNIVAC are the real life Mulder and Scully from X-Files. I believe that all of this stuff is real, while she’s the pretty redhead who insists that there must be a rational explanation.
