This is the second and final part of a pair of guest posts by our good friend, The Male Brain, aka Dawn Pine, which is a translation from the Hebrew of an article by an Israeli political scientist and commentator. The first part of this post can be found here, and provides the initial background to what follows here. You might want to review that earlier article before you read this one, as this part will not make much sense if you do not. The basic thrust of this part of the article deals with the fact that Israel actually remains highly resistant to Leftism in general, and denotes how the Left is currently working to destroy Israel, just as the Left has worked to destroy the Western nations already. Key Values

The Left also clearly has an ongoing campaign aimed straight at each key values of the right, apart from the consciousness campaigns of the subgroups. The goal is to dismantle and break the ideological basis for the resistance to the Leftist hegemony. I have chosen several key values under such constant attack.

Orthodox Judaism

The attack on the orthodox Jewish values takes many shapes and presents those values as outdated, irrelevant, unprogressive, and anti-liberal. The goal is to deter Orthodox Judaism, which is the main, dominant, and meaningful resistance to the Leftist ideology.

Anything that identifies with the Leftist ideology is under attack by the Orthodox group in Israel: opening business on Shabbat, army draft, kosher for businesses, funds for learning (Yeshiva), marriages, divorces, events and catastrophes. Day by day, issue after issue is constantly brought up in a never ending cycle.

When discussed, it is always criticised. The values are presented as a public nuisance. There is never a debate about their place in the public sphere of the Jewish state, since the Jewish state is the problem that the progressives want to solve.

National Identity

The attack on the national identity has in mind the goal of nullifying the Jewish character of Israel. The Law of Return is one of many examples. The law does not discriminate against any other minority but highlights the obvious – Israel is the national home of the Jews, yet it is vilified constantly.

Other massive attacks on the national identity are coming from artists and creators who present the state of Israel in the worst possible light.

The main organised attack comes from the NGOs of The Foundation for New Israel. With massive foreign funding, partly from European governments, and some from undisclosed sources, a great array of NGOs target each a different element of the Jewish nationality. It can be an NGO targeting Jewish settling within the green line, an NGO creating vision documents to annul the Jewish nature of Israel, and other NGOs spreading malice against Israel abroad, as well as NGOs that take advantage of social crises to provoke negative reactions against Israel.

The more you associate the Jewish nationality with violence, racism, incitement and oppression, more citizens will detest the identity or at least won’t be sorry if goes away. It does not have any positive meaning.

The Family

The family is a central target in the consciousness campaign, since it is the basis of national and social existence. Per Leftist ideology, the more individualised the society, the better it will be to control and navigate it.

The more radical approach, represented by Merav Michaeli, challenges the family structure and the right of parents to raise their children. Per Michaeli (as she stated in an Australian panel), the ideal is to transfer the right to raise children and their education to the state. One can only imagine how a society like that will look.

The less radical approach challenges the traditional family structure of father, mother and children. We are way beyond equality and part of the consciousness campaign. The more the traditional family collapses, the more the social structure of the right wing traditional religious public will collapse – and the easier it will become to control a broken and divided nation.

Holy Places

The reformist fight over the Western Wall is one of the permanent fronts that are looking to troll the Orthodox dominance in Israel. Radical anti-religious Leftists joining into that fight clearly shows what the cause of the fight is. It is about hurting the Orthodox dominance or the culture and government, and opening up an easy point of engagement and provocation. The constant clashes over prayer near the Western Wall should be perceived as part of the consciousness campaign.

[It is worth noting that the “Western Wall”, as we know it today, is not actually a true wall of the Temple of Herod. Much less is it a wall of the Temple of Solomon. As far as we can tell, it was in fact an earthwork retaining wall used during the construction of the Second Temple under Herod. None of this changes the fact that the Western Wall represents probably the holiest site in all of Judaism, and is a symbol of their faith – and is a LITERAL physical impediment to the Left’s globalist programme. The Directions of the Consciousness Campaign

The consciousness campaign is everywhere, anytime and non-stop. One cannot read a newspaper, listen to the radio, watch the news or a reality show and not be exposed to some aspect of it. It can be an “objective” report, commentary, satire, literature and art or even popular reality TV. There is virtually no escape.

Yet there are more mainstream effective channels than most.

The News Channels

The vast majority of news – TV, internet, press and radio echo daily the same messages of the consciousness campaign. One cannot consume content without influence. The content is positioned as objective, which lowers the defenses, because it is news and facts. The consumer finds it very hard to deal with the ongoing effect.

Universities and Education

The social sciences departments are more like a gulag than a free speech academy that should allow free exchange of ideas. The indoctrination is brutal with one narrative, that of the progressive. There is no academic commentary, which is not Leftist. A student learning there has to have enormous fortitude to hold on to his opinions and not submit to leftist dominance. The K-12 education system becomes the garbage can of all “advanced” ideas. Some school have more aggressive indoctrination and some less, but they all have it. Narratives supporting “refugees”, exposure of pre-puberty kids to transgender stories, post-modernist messages of a “mythical other” (always miserable and mostly because of us) who is a subject of “Internal Racism”, encouragement of Insubordination, visiting and worshiping in mosques, presentations by anti-Israeli organizations and more.

Work Places

There is definitely a momentum, weaker than the media or academy. The main attack on the mind is “Pride Month”. High-tech companies celebrate it as much or more than national and religious holidays. Flags are raised, employees get festive emails, special activities are offered including lectures. In one company cakes and deserts were given based on the “pride” colors. It’s almost like it is a holiday and not an organized attack on the family. Cellcom (a cellular provider) joined indirectly to a strike initiated by the Hamas, while ridiculously calling for “co-existence” during riots. This is an example of the consciousness campaign going after other areas apart from the family.

Discourse Sphere

Language is a main tool in the consciousness campaign. Controlling language provides control to the thought space. Decommissioning concepts reduces their legitimacy. Introducing new concepts does the opposite. A classic example is “incitement”, which is the Israeli concept used to mark the allowed speech on the right. Labeling speech as incitement immediately delegitimize it and brings other factors to prevent it. Leftist brutal, violent and sexist speech is always “freedom of speech” and “critical for democracy”.

Public Fastness Against the Consciousness Campaign

The consciousness campaign is definitely effective. It preserves large publics, which are not part of the right in a captive consciousness state. Those people want to identify with the “right things”, “the right opinion” and the “right thing to do”, all of which are daily dictated by the media, academia and cultural sphere. Identifying as conservative puts the supporters, in a lower, less right, less intellectual, less advanced place. Even partly identifying with progressive views positions the supporters in a much better place for them. They have the right ideology the same way they wear the fashionable clothes.

Progressive branding is shiny and successful while conservative branding is outdated, inferior and flawed. Selecting the worse brand requires an apologetic state of mind. Choosing the successful brand is far natural and logical.

The Resistant Ecosystem Triangle

However, even what is stated above, there is an ecosystem in Israel holding on well against the consciousness campaign, sticking to its positions after all.

The election results of the last years clearly show that four segments are highly resistant: Ashkenazi ultra-Orthodox, Sephardic ultra-Orthodox, religious traditionalists and the secular right wing Likud supporters. Compared to them, it seems that a major part of the religious Zionists show lack of ideological fortitude and are crumbling under the attacks of the Left.

The ability to withstand such an intensive attack requires an extremely hard core, and it is present within the national Right-wing based on ultra-Orthodox (Ashkenazi and Sephardic) and the Sephardic religious traditionalist.

The ultra-Orthodox maintain their way of life fanatically and successfully. They do it by the culture of studying the Torah and abstaining from secular exposure. It is not a full abstain but a very significant one allowing to achieve the desired effect. The consciousness campaign does not penetrate the ultra-orthodox domain. They willingly compartmentalise the progressive core values, thus conserving multiple matching or near right wing values.

The Ashkenazi ultra-Orthodox are as an anchor wedged deep in the ground showing no weakness. Near them are the Sephardic ultra-orthodox who are interacting and being influenced by the Ashkenazi for decades. Sephardic ultra-orthodox are more open to main society and are a bridgehead to a main avenue of traditional religious Sephardic. That interaction is via multiple channels – familial, events, advanced Judaic studies programs, religious sermons, holidays, holy places, lectures and more.

The tight bond between Sephardic traditionalist and ultra-orthodox is a shield against the consciousness campaign, even if they are more integrated into society. A triangular steel string has been created, based on Jewish values. Those values are not maintained the same way in each group, but they form a large common denominator with impressive resistance to the campaign.

The Collapse of Religious Zionism

The outlier of the right wing is the religious Zionist segment, especially the Ashkenazi part. This segment is not related to the ultra-orthodox as they view them as ideological opponent. It is also not related to the Sephardic people – ultra-orthodox or rationalists.

This is an ideological group that interprets Zionism as the beginning of salvation and sees the Israeli nationality, as it translated to unity, as a sacred mystical value. They are completely integrated with the public, the defense establishment, the academy, the high-tech industry, governmental positions, education and media. It makes the group highly susceptible to the consciousness campaign, which in major parts is targeted.

The religious ethos of mystical unity, and the contrast of the rejection generated by the media and academic elite, created a strong frustration. The attempt to “settle at hearts” via the national service or social assistance only exposed them to additional campaign claiming “religionization”.

Combined it all with the inferiority complex with the historical left (who founded the state) and that the left refuses to legitimize the settlers as pioneers. The last two years harboring four elections and an unprecedented hate campaign, headed by the left organizations, the media and leftist leaders, and the result was a complete erosion of the basic social loyalty within Israel.

Parts of the religious Zionist have undergone an ideological breakdown. The consciousness campaign left them vulnerable, exposed and desperate to achieve the “holy unity” with those who started the unity crisis and dismantled it from within. It is an irrational thought, that by joining forces with ideological foes, one may reach political salvation. Therefore, a daily exposure to the consciousness campaign combined an unstable moral anchor, led parts of the religious Zionist group to an ideological meltdown.

How odd that the “so called” ideological part of the right wing, which sees itself as the forefront of the Israeli society, are the ones melting down. Others, which are less religious and “less ideologically inclined”, held their positions far better.

Conclusions

If we want to draw future conclusions, it is obvious. The right wing groups should maintain interaction with the ultra-orthodox. This relationship should be maintained as is, or even expand and enhanced.

The ultra-orthodox self-confidence, unlike the lack of confidence from the religious Zionists, allows for a broader basis and a firm ideological back. Obviously, there is no absolute ideological identity and multiple areas of disagreements. There is, however, a mutual value basis that touches upon the national Jewish existence, and that promises the survival of the right wing national camp.

Even though Jewish religion is also a nationality, we can extend the lesson to other western nations. You may not be ultra-orthodox or the equivalence, but in order to hold on to your nationality – you need religion. Religion is part of our legacy. Without roots, any wind will blow you away.)

The Didact’s Take

First of all, my thanks once again to our good friend for another thought-provoking piece. There are many interesting parts to this article. The core of it comes down to the use and power of narratives and the control that they can exert over human minds.

Once you study narratives, you begin to realise just what a tremendously powerful weapon they really are. Anyone who thinks that most people are easily convinced and persuaded by facts and evidence, is a moron. It simply is not true. Most people far prefer to think about the world in terms of easy-to-digest prepackaged simple stories and narratives.

Most of these narratives are blatantly false. “Man-made global warming” is a narrative – the “science” behind it is absolute and utter garbage. The Scamdemic is a narrative. The notion that homosexuality is “normal” is a narrative. Every one of these things can be easily challenged on the basis of facts and evidence. And most of the time, those challenges are largely futile, because the power of narrative is such that most people are convinced that the stories are true, simply because they sound plausible.

That is the point raised by this article. The Left’s power over narratives is such that it uses this as a weapon to convince others to fall in line with the Leftist, Globalist ideology.

So how do we fight it?

One potential answer is faith in God. As our good friend Dawn Pine points out, the entire thrust of this second part of the article is that religious faith is a powerful antidote to Leftist stupidity. But it cannot be just any old sort of faith – you have to have faith in the kind of God and the kind of religion that actually make sense. The only way to do this is to go back to the one and only book that has repeatedly withstood every single attack every thrown against it.

And that book is the Bible.

The Bible is not THE word of God. It is the Divinely inspired word of men, written down by men who were clearly moved by the Holy Spirit.

But the Bible points with absolute and unerring precision to THE Word of God – the LOGOS. You can see this from literally the first line of Genesis. The Bible points to Jesus Christ as Lord and to Yahweh as the Lord of all Creation.

Only when you put your stock and faith in that which is unquestionably true, can you resist effectively the lies and madness of those who speak with eloquent, but false, narratives. That is why the religious types in Israel have successfully fought against the degenerate Left. That is the lesson that we must learn from them – to put our faith in what is Good, Beautiful, and True, and to use that as our source of strength and courage in mounting our own fightback against the evil of the Left.
