If you ended up here after clicking on any article originating from Didact’s Reach, and you’re wondering WTFH happened, don’t worry, you haven’t gone crazy. (Well, no more than usual, considering you’re reading my writing.) All that happened is that I finally finished the import and redirection process for all of my material from the old Blogger blog.
I’m done with Blogger, and quite happily so. From now on, I’ll be using shared-hosting WordPress exclusively for everything.
The old Blogger domain will of course remain exactly where it is. That’s because all of my image files are hosted on it and my Goolag account, so they have to stay there. As you can see, this does have an impact on the look and feel and layout of this blog, which is very much in its “Looks Like ASS” phase of life.
That will improve and change over time. It’s going to take some time and a lot of effort on my part to get this place looking the way I want it, but the first and most difficult steps are done and I’m quite happy to be away from Blogger’s legacy infrastructure and HORRIBLE “new” interface, which will eventually become the ineradicable default before very long. (End of this month is the deadline, I think.)
Anyway, the full blog archives are available here (with one exception – the post that told you that I’m moving the blog, simply because I didn’t see the point in keeping it), along with the Great Mondaydact Browser Busters – which are probably a LOT less impressive right now given that the Instathot links are all broken and the YouTube videos are all wonky and who knows what happened to all of the pictures and so on and so forth. But it’s all here, along with everybody’s comments.
Speaking of comments – same rules apply as before, NO ANONYMOUS COMMENTARY ALLOWED. I personally moderate all comments, but this Akismet anti-spam filter might be a bit aggressive – I don’t permit comments on other sites that I have built, for various reasons, so I have no idea how good (or bad) it is. If you write a comment, and it gets caught in a spam filter of some kind and you don’t see it, shoot me an email.
The email address has changed, too. The Gmail address is still active and does still work, but I’ll be redirecting everything to domainquery@didacticmind.com for all blog-related inquiries. That will also be the email address used to setup my mailing list, to which you can subscribe later once I get all the widgets up and running.
As I said in my original post about moving real estate, there will be embedded affiliate links and ad banners and so on in various spots. There is no need to get rid of your ad-blockers – or so I hope – in order to view the site, I’ll have a separate page with all of my affiliate links posted up for you to use as well. And I’ll be using my email subscription lists to market these products too.
That’s it for now. Stop by tomorrow for the usual Sunday Scripture and podcast.
