“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

The most beautiful cars… IN THE WORLD

by | Aug 21, 2020 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

Obviously I’m ripping off paying humble tribute to one of the blokiest blokes ever to bloke across a TV screen with the title, but when you actually look at the offerings of a small company over in PommieBastardLande called Eagle GB, you’ll understand why:

The original Jaguar E-Type remains one of the most spectacularly beautiful cars EVER made. The problem is that Jaguar electricals and wiring back in the 1960s were… well, how does one put this politely… unreliable.

That, by the way, may perhaps be the understatement of the century.

The reality is that British-made cars in the 1960s and especially later in the 1970s were so appallingly unreliable and awful that almost none of them are considered even remotely drive-worthy today.

But the shoddy wiring and awful electricals do nothing to change the fact that Jaguar had – and, praise the Lord, has again – an uncanny ability to design cars that absolutely melt your heart with their sweeping curves and stunning beauty.

Some examples of the breed:

Even so, the Jaguar E-Type beats all of them hollow in terms of looks.

Now imagine a Jaguar E-Type that actually, y’know, WORKS. What, exactly, would you sell to obtain one?

House? Car? Firstborn? Secondborn? All future earnings? Retirement and pension?

Because that’s about what it would cost, in all honesty. The car company that creates these fantastically beautiful modernised working models of old-school E-Type Jags, Eagle GB, charges HALF A MILLION POUNDS for such restoration jobs.

And that’s the base price.

Still and all… imagine driving around in an E-Type Jaguar with functioning brakes, working electricals, a re-tuned engine that actually starts, and that GLORIOUS Jaguar roar.

A man can dream, after all…
