Legendary investor (and terminal liberaltard) Warren Buffett has a favourite saying:

“Only when the tide goes out do you discover who’s been swimming naked”.

Mr. Buffett has created the world’s largest and most successful investment portfolio precisely because he was always so good at figuring out exactly who was swimming naked and why.

It turns out that most if not all of the Big Media companies who exercise so much control over the popular culture, have been doing precisely that, for years.

But not anymore, for the past week has been a fascinating one in terms of revelations about these companies and the true health, or lack thereof, of their balance sheets.

Several of the world’s biggest and most influential IPs had basically become SJW-converged crapfests that produced nothing of quality and less of interest. And that is because the corporations that owned those IPs had themselves become heavily converged. It doesn’t matter whether we are talking about DC Comics, the Devil Mouse, ViacomCBS, NBC Universal, or any other that you care to name. They are ALL converged.

But that was all before Corona-chan began to spread her pestilential blessings.

Big Media always thought that they could hide their malfeasance behind an impenetrable wall of cash cows, blockbuster films, amusement park rides, and streaming services. Then the Kung Flu started spreading around, and the Chinkvirus has made it very clear, very quickly, exactly which companies are actually healthy and profitable and capable of absorbing abdominal wounds during a time of crisis.

Various YouTube channels that monitor the Big Media companies have posted up fascinating pieces one after another this week on this very subject.

Let’s start with Star Trek. Midnight’s Edge explores the current state of the Star Trek IP in the wake of the re-merger of ViacomCBS, and the likely impending collapse of that parent company:

Now let’s take a look at comics with Gary from Nerdrotic, where the entire industry is cratering as Kung Flu forces stores to close and distributors to freeze all movement:

And now let’s give the stage over to Overlord Dicktor Van Doomcock, as he analyses the current, extremely parlous, state of the Devil Mouse, and comes to some very surprising, and heartening, conclusions:

Three separate Big Media businesses, three separate rapid late-stage collapses, and three very clear reasons to reject the globalised, ultra-woke, crony-capitalist approach to doing business.

The Devil Mouse is going to have to shed a number of properties and cut back on its massive acquisitions spree that saw it absorb Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm one after another – and managed to pervert and corrupt pretty much everything produced by those companies as a result. Its theme parks are going to have to shut down or streamline as well, slashing costs in order to remain profitable. And its management is going to have to take a financial bath – in hyrdocholoric acid, because of the sheer amount of debt that it has had to take on just to stay afloat.

ViacomCBS is strapped to the gills with debt – $18 BILLION worth of it. To put that into perspective, one American company has 50% more debt than the entire Russian government pays in interest payments every year.

That is a shocking figure. And it’s entirely due to the financial mismanagement and miscalculations of the Viacom subsidiary back in the days after the split in 2005.

There is no reasonable way for the re-consolidated company to pay off those debts without spinning off and selling certain properties or cutting back dramatically on expenses – and inevitably, that means cutting back on employees.

The comics divisions of all of the big companies – Marvel, DC, Image, and others – are ENTIRELY dependent upon Diamond Comics Distributors Inc. to ship their physical products out to comic book stores. But while the Kung Flu rages, of course, Diamond Comics has indefinitely suspended all shipments. And that has had a tremendous economic backlash. Thousands of comic book stores around the USA and the world are closing up very quickly – they are stuck with stocks that they cannot sell, and they have no hope of getting any big-selling titles in anytime soon.

There can be no question that a lot of innocent employees are going to get their asses shot off during the extremely painful corporate cost cutting that is going to follow. This isn’t going to be pleasant or easy. I really do feel bad for those folks – they did nothing wrong. They were just doing their jobs and they got shot for being in the wrong place, at the wrong time, working for the wrong company.

I’ve been in their position throughout my entire adult life – every single job that I’ve ever had since the age of 22 has been like that.

This does not mean that, just because innocent people will be caught up in the carnage, the companies that have done so much to damage and destroy our culture should be allowed to continue to get away with their malfeasance.

The Kung Flu’s worst effects are basically over and done with at this point. Things will start to ease up over the coming weeks and months, and we’re going to see things come ROARING back to life pretty soon. But there is no question that Corona-chan has irreversibly and completely changed the world – of this, there can be no question or doubt, and for that, we should be quite thankful, because in more than a few cases, the Kung Flu has in a single stroke utterly DESTROYED the business models and revenue sources of precisely the companies that hate their customers the most.

This is a VERY good thing for the rest of us. It means that a lot of the most SJW-converged properties and titles are going to die swift and painful deaths, and will be buried unloved and unmourned under the ever-growing mountain of failed ideas.

As always, my friends, I adjure you not to lose hope. As bad as the Kung Flu has been, its primary effects have been economic and psychological, not physical – and we can heal from non-physical trauma. We should look to the future with hope and faith, because the media landscape is shifting radically and the absolute worst SJW-converged shitfests will go down in flames in the near future.

It’s a good time to be alive. Never forget that, and never give up the fight for the culture.
