“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

Happy HELLOWEEN 2019

Well, here we are at what is supposedly the spookiest day of the year, but which in actual fact just involves a lot of adorable little kids dressed up in silly costumes knocking on doors and begging for candy. Good for them, says I.

There is no such tradition in the part of the world that I’m in now; it seems to be a largely American thing, with some carryover into PommieBastardLand, to some small extent, if you’re living in London. But elsewhere it really doesn’t have a whole lot of meaning.

That said – I thoroughly approve of Halloween, if only because it gives kids an excuse to go knocking on doors in their neighbourhoods and asking for candy.

And also because, of course, it gives me a chance to post up one of the greatest epic heavy metal songs ever recorded – now brought roaring back to life thanks to the reunited classic lineup (well, almost – sadly Ingo Schwichtenberg committed suicide back in the mid-90s):

And here’s another version of the legendary Keepers trilogy from HELLOWEEN:

Finally, here’s one of my favourite clips from one of the very, very few TV shows worth watching these days, Last Man Standing:

Happy HELLOWEEN, y’all.
