“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”
Everyone has his or her own favourite Disney movie. Mine was always Robin Hood, for a number of reasons (mostly the hysterically funny fight scene in the middle, and also because of this song). My sister’s, on the other hand, was The Lion King. She spent an entire summer when I was about 10 years old watching that movie EVERY. SINGLE. GODDAMN. DAY. Within a month I was about ready to strangle her the moment that stupid first song started blaring through the TV speakers.
That video is simultaneously the funniest and most disturbing thing you will see all day. And it is a spectacularly brilliant way of destroying someone’s childhood. If you have a significantly younger sibling who loved the Disney films from the mid-90s, this would be a most excellent antidote.
