At the beginning of the year, Our Beloved and Dreaded Supreme Dark Lord (PBUH) Voxemort the Most Malevolent and Terrible published a book called Probability Zero: The Mathematical Impossibility of Evolution by Natural Selection. He based that book on work going back nearly 10 years to his debates with evolutionists and neo-Darwinians, including one particular car-crash with J. F. Gariepy, in which the latter had basically no arguments against Vox’s mathematically rooted critiques of the “Modern Evolutionary Synthesis”, as it is known in the literature.
Those mathematically rooted critiques essentially came down to a very simple point: if you use actual MAFFS, and not clever rhetoric, to look at the best available data regarding genetic mutations and changes across a species, then the “blind watchmaker” of natural selection simply does not have anything like enough time to gradually change one organism into something fundamentally different.
The core of OBADSDL(PBUH)’s argument, back then, stood on observed and clear data around the supposed divergence between the chimpanzee and human genetic codes. According to standard Darwinian theory, there is a “Last Common Human-Chimp Ancestor”, which existed somewhere between 4.5 and 25 million years ago, with the consensus sitting somewhere around 9 million years ago.
I broke all of the MAFFS down in a poast from 2019, though I took things a bit further than Vox did, on a different track, putting together a regression equation that one could potentially use with multiple data points to see if the log-linear relationship between total mutations as the dependent variable, and human mutations since the LCHCA, age of the oldest human DNA sequence, and time since the LCHCA, as independent variables.
That regression equation was probably overkill; the data most likely do not exist in sufficient quantities to allow for a proper and robust statistical test. But that does not change the validity of OBADSDL(PBUH)’s core argument:
Suppose you give an evolutionist the absolute best possible data that supports his case. You give him the fastest mutation rates ever recorded (using bacteria), the longest timelines possible for divergence between humans and our supposed Great Ape cousins, and the oldest human DNA sequence ever recorded.
Even if you give an evolutionist EVERY POSSIBLE BENEFIT, the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection completely fails to deliver the required number of mutations in the set time.
TENS – or, to use the more accurate and detailed, but cumbersome, nomenclature, “Theory of Evolution by (Probably) Natural Selection, Biological Mutation, Genetic Drift, Sexual Selection, and Gene Flow (TE(p)NSBMGDSSaGF)” – does not merely miss the mark by a few thousand, or even a million, years. That would be a rounding error, considering the (supposed) age of the Earth and the Universe.
The MAFF don’t MAFF by at least FIVE ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE.
That is not simply a failure of the theory to explain reality. This would be bad enough. This kind of a disastrous performance is like building the Hoover Dam with the best possible materials and scientific techniques available, only for it to vanish the day it was dedicated, and then unleash the entire power of the Colorado River to flood and destroy everything downstream of the Black Canyon.
It is, in other words, a cataclysmic failure.
Nor does Vox stop at merely one example. Methodically, ruthlessly, and with admirable precision, he then dismantles every single refutation, appeal to authority, counterargument, and diversion that a biologist can possibly come up with. He is especially ruthless when looking at the “standard” appeal to “parallel fixation”, which is the kind of “get out of jail free” card that evolutionists use when trying to argue – usually with an extremely irritating air of smugness – that multiple mutations can fix in a population at the same time.
Using example after example, Vox shows us that, even if you use the most prolific seed-slinger in human history – the Great Khan himself, Genghis – and some of the most extreme selection pressures ever recorded, as your primary variables, even parallel fixation simply fails to hold up under the timescales we have at hand.
It is at this point that the evolutionist typically retreats to something called “the neutral theory of molecular evolution”, first postulated by Japanese biologist Motou Kimura in 1968, when he published a landmark paper that used a partial differential equation approach to model molecular-level changes under specific assumptions. The MAFF involved is a little dense – unlike ordinary differential equations (ODEs), PDEs tend to be much harder to solve using closed-form or analytic methods – but, supposedly, this rescues Darwinian theory by providing empirically supportable mathematical calculations for the rate at which mutations propagate through species.
The argument Kimura made was that negative, or non-beneficial, alleles would be weeded out of a population through natural selection, while neutral – neither beneficial nor negative – alleles or mutations would propagate through the population at a rate determined by a selection coefficient, a dominance coefficient, and a rate of diffusion.
All of that is a dramatic oversimplification of some quite challenging MAFF, but the basic point is that, for bacteria that reproduce asexually, the calculator works very well.
The problem is that biologists have a very nasty habit of extrapolating from what works in bacteria – a very special case of organism that produces asexually by splitting into two organisms, and does not have overlapping generations – to other organisms that are completely different.
The moment you actually examine and challenge the assumptions behind the Kimura Fixation Calculator, the whole thing falls apart.
Worse, far worse, is the fact that, if you take that same fixation calculator and correct for a remarkably silly algebraic mistake made in the original formulation, and then apply it to, again, the very best possible data that we have for evolution…
You still end up with results that are not even in the same galaxy as what we observe in reality.
This has profound and serious implications for our current scientific worldview.
Vox performed an intellectual evisceration of Darwinian theory, using nothing much more than relatively easy-to-follow MAFF. I mean, the actual MAFF behind it all is complex, but Vox has streamlined it down to a series of straightforward algebraic operations that require no strong technical background to understand.
What he did with this one book, stood the entire scientific consensus of modern biology on its head, and pointed out that the Darwinian Emperor truly has no clothes whatsoever. Worse, that same Emperor is fat, bald, impotent, and about the size of a peanut, while projecting an image of being 5 metres tall.
But it is what followed next, that should have biologists reaching for their smelling salts.
In the following book, The Frozen Gene, Vox starts out with a genuinely shocking premise: that human evolution has essentially ground to a halt. I have not yet read the book in full, but the first paper that Vox presents, shows the MAFF is clear. Human genetics have not only stopped evolving; the very transmission mechanism has fundamentally broken down.
And that, too, has serious implications, far beyond mere biology.
The basic mechanism for propagating mutations through the human genome, is – quite simply – sexual reproduction. It is what you and I understand as: “find a good woman, put a ring on her, and pump her full of babies, with both of you quite enjoying the process”.
It is observably true that not one of those four components is working any longer.
Modern women, at least in the West, stopped being “good” a long time ago – the good ones still exist, but they are getting harder and harder to find. Sixty years of female economic empowerment, access to college education, the first two waves of feminism, women’s liberation, and the Sexual Revolution, have all comprehensively polluted and destroyed the available pool of marriageable women.
Those same pressures have made marriage beyond the reach and hope of the vast majority of men – the Deltas, to use another Voxism, on whom society itself rests.
Birth rates have fallen precipitously across the entire world, due in large measure to those exact same factors. When you combine that with increasing economic uncertainty and geopolitical instability, the propensity of men and women to get together, get married, have children, and raise them into functional adults, has declined to lows rarely seen before in recorded history.
To repeat, this is a phenomenon repeating across the entire world. Even high-fecundity populations in the Shitholistans of the world, are seeing rapid drops in birth rates. We see this in Iran, where the average woman used to have 6-8 children in the 1970s, right down to less than 2 now. India is seeing the same thing. So is Pakistan. So are large parts of Africa, though total fertility rates there are much higher than in the West, and will remain so for quite some time.
The result of this collapse in fertility, is that the deleterious and negative mutations present in the current human genome, are not getting weeded out through sexual reproduction.
Sex, for the purpose of procreation, is an extremely powerful thing on multiple levels – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual… and, obviously, biological. Procreative sex that results in conception, allows humans to correct negative mutations and propagate positive ones, by uniting two different sets of chromosomes and DNA into one new human being.
But what happens when sexual reproduction no longer happens, or at least no longer to the level that we need to correct out the genetic flaws of our species?
The mathematics are coldly determinate on this subject. Without severe corrective action, the human race becomes stunted, retarded, infertile, and quite possibly even inbred.
There are no pleasant or simple solutions to any of that. The best available solution, is one that most modern humans would rebel against instantly:
Stop permitting the education of women above the 8th grade.
If you even suggest something like that in public, you will be accused of thinking like an Izzlamist, of being a knuckle-dragging regressive caveman, a sexist, a misogynist, and an all-round horrible, evil, terrible, no-good, very-bad unperson.
The name-calling does not change the MAFF, though. The single most important mechanism we have as a species for changing and correcting the flaws in our genetic code, is through sexual reproduction and female fecundity. We have no substitute for this at the moment, and are unlikely to have one anytime soon.
The simple reality is that the elegant rhetoric and handwavium of modern biology has now run face-first into the impenetrable and undeniable wall of mathematics. OBADSDL(PBUH) has done the world an enormous service by bringing the problems to light – and they are not even particularly new. As Vox himself points out, the mathematical demolition of TE(p)NSBMGDSSaGF took place back in the early 1960s, at the Wistar Conference, where the best biologists of that time simply could not answer mathematically rooted critiques of their theory from genuinely capable MAFF nerds.
There are no good or easy solutions to the problems raised by Vox’s book. Nor should there be. If you have observed Vox’s work of late, you will note that he has been on an AI-augmented tear, slaughtering numerous sacred cows of post-Enlightenment thinking and turning them, without mercy, one by one, into cheeseburgers.
It is right, good, and necessary to do this. Only by being intellectually honest with ourselves, and by admitting the failures of our false gods, can we go back to what is actually genuine, true, time-tested, immutable, and Divine.
That requires us to put everything we know and learn to the same stringent battery of tests that Vox is now putting numerous philosophical shibboleths, using his “Triveritas” formulation of logic, empiricism, and mathematics. I do not pretend to understand it – my background in HARD MAFF notwithstanding, I do not consider myself to be good at philosophy, and Vox is at least one standard IQ deviation smarter than I am – but I judge based on the results.
Those results tell me that modern intellectualism has a very serious problem. It has no foundation, no basis for its arguments, and has now run into a solid adamantium wall that it cannot puncture, shatter, or undermine in any way.
If nothing else, at least acknowledging the severe errors in our current understanding of the world – starting with the false god of the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection, and the many and increasingly absurd epicycles that rest upon it – would be a good start at finding a way out of our current problems.
