Remember what I wrote earlier about how the US military cannot win wars? That is because the US military is fundamentally unserious about the subject of warfighting.

To demonstrate this problem, let us observe military recruiting ads from three different powers – China, Russia, and the USA:

(I understand quite well what the Russian ad says. It opens with the words, “This is the first day of your new life. Who you were yesterday – doesn’t matter anymore.” The rest of the ad continues in the same vein – basically making the point that the man in the video once had no cares or worries, but now carries the defence of the Motherland upon his shoulders, and that without pain there can be no victory.)

Tell me, brother – what do the first two ads make you feel?

If you have any manliness whatsoever in your blood, you feel a stirring, a powerful warmth, a sense of brotherhood and strength, of lethal and directed PURPOSE against the enemies of your people.

This is very, very good.

What do you feel when you see the American ad?

If you’re anything like me, probably a sense of soul-crushing despair that what used to be the world’s greatest country has debased itself so thoroughly.

That ad is PATHETIC. It does not show a proud and strong country – it shows one that has no clue what fighting spirit really is.

It is worth pointing out one thing about the Chinese military, though:

It is actually quite bad at fighting in real wars.

No, seriously, that’s the truth. The actual record of the PLA in wartime is genuinely quite poor.

The Chinese military is, in fact, quite underfunded relative to its size – but it MORE than makes up for that through sheer volume. There is a saying in the military that goes something like, “quantity has a quality all of its own”, and the Chinese have that in SPADES.

That does not mean that they could confront the USA in a shooting war and win outright. But they don’t have to. They simply have to show greater fighting spirit.

If America were ever truly dumb enough to sleepwalk into a war in the South China Sea – and, given the current “leadership” at the helm under the Not-President and the San FransiscHo, I wouldn’t be against that happening – then all China needs to do is to sink one, perhaps two, American nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.

That would result in the deaths of between 5,000 and 10,000 American sailors. And it would shatter, once and for all, the ongoing myth of American hegemony and naval supremacy.

This is well within China’s capabilities right now. They don’t even have to resort to sinking American naval ships, either. Their network of ship-killing systems is powerful enough that all the Americans can do is turn tail and run. And everyone knows it, but no one wants to admit it.

None of that changes the fact that the Chinese military is not actually particularly battle-hardened or capable of fighting a serious war against a committed enemy.

Those same points categorically do not apply to Russia.

Of the three major global powers, the Russians probably have the most effective pound-for-pound land fighting force. Their naval forces are not what they were during the height of the USSR’s power, and they don’t pretend to be either. Back in the day, just before the breakup of the Soviet Union, the USSR boasted a staggering 895 ships, including 4 real aircraft carriers and 2 helicopter carriers. Today, the majority of their naval forces consist of corvettes and submarines.

But they don’t need an extensive navy anymore, because the Russians no longer have to worry about maintaining a globe-spanning empire. They simply have to worry about fighting land wars in their own backyard. And in that respect, they are probably the best military on the planet.

They don’t have the technology and the toys that America does – though, given that the USAF is busy dropping Joint Strike Flying Pianos out of the sky these days, that is almost certainly a Very Good Thing. And the toys that they do have, such as the Su-57, are likely capable of taking on the supposedly “superior” American air force and winning, simply because they are more reliable and less idiotically designed.

But the most important aspect of Russia’s fighting strength is not in its technological capabilities – formidable though they are – or in the reforms that its leaders implemented to trim down their forces and build up real strength.

It lies in their fighting spirit.

The Russian army today is lean, fit, tough, battle-hardened, and has a real and proper NCO corps. More importantly, it has actual fighting spirit. The Russians do not care for woke wankery and have no patience whatsoever for it.

I speak with Russians on an almost daily basis, for a variety of reasons. The common sentiment among them is a sense of sick shock at the way in which the West continues to sell its soul and destroy its people. They cannot and do not understand how fundamentally unserious America and much of the West has become. The Russians went through the Hell-Times of Communism, and that clearly forged them into a tough, sober, fatalistic bunch who do not take shit from anyone – but they are also compassionate and sensitive in ways that most Westerners fail to understand until they interact with Russians.

And it is that compassion and sensitivity that shocks them when they see how badly unglued the West has become. Nothing horrifies and shocks them more than seeing these ridiculous ads that the American and British miitaries release, depicting “diverse” and “woke” and “tolerant” fighting forces that celebrate homosexuality, racial sensitivity, and assorted other nonsense.

You see, Russians don’t think that war is a game. They’ve fought existential wars for the past THOUSAND YEARS, and they’ve gotten very, very good at defending their own homeland. And they take threats of war and violence very seriously. That is well and good – the Laws of War demand respect for one’s opponent.

Part of that respect, however, involves expecting that your opponent is actually, y’know, serious about fighting. Russians look at today’s weak, effete, out-of-shape, absurdly woke American military and fall over laughing, because they know that Americans are not serious about war.

Americans used to have fighting spirit, once upon a time. But that time has gone where all Good Old Days go to die. It is no insult to America’s veterans and fighting men to note that the proud institutions that they once served with honour and distinction no longer exist. Some of those men read this site, and they will tell you exactly the same thing.

For all of its might and power, for all of the money that it spends on weapons capable of inflicting horrific slaughter upon its enemies, the US military today is, indeed, fundamentally unserious – in sharp contrast with its past, when its leaders studied war assiduously and understood what it meant to fight and kill. Its modern leadership does lack fighting spirit. And the civilians at the top who supposedly run the show, are complete morons who haven’t the first clue what real war is like.

When, not if, the time comes for serious war, the US military will LOSE, in spectacular fashion. It has already lost to a bunch of jumped-up goat-humpers and kiddie-fiddlers armed with outdated weapons and little, if any, body armour in the Rockpile and the Sandbox, precisely because it is not willing to follow the true dictates of the Laws of War. The moment that the US tries to take on an actual fighting power that is both willing and able to send MEN to do the true work of men, it will be beaten so badly that its empire will crumble around it in a heartbeat.

It’s already happening, in fact. The world knows and can see that the US military cannot maintain American hegemony. It’s just that no one wants to admit this plain fact. But the time will soon come when the US military has to fight in a real war – and then, the child of two “mommies” is going to die a hell of a lot faster than anyone else, simply because the Americans have forgotten that you cannot buy fighting spirit.
