For those paying attention to the Banderastan War, a certain smelly green-shirted piano-pecker-playing “comedian”, who pretends to be leading a fake country called “Ukraine”, recently stated that he wants that same fake country to acquire nuclear weapons:
The sheer stupidity of what Bellendsky the Coke-Fiend Narcofuehrer just said, has to be unpacked to be understood properly.
Several very capable analysts have done precisely that. Simplicius the Thinker pointed out in his most recent piece on Substack the mind-boggling idiocy of what Bellendsky just demanded – either admission into NATO, or nuclear weapons, which the Narcofuehrer insisted were taken from Ukraine as part of the Budapest Memorandum.
The problem is that Bellendsky is playing very fast and loose with basic history.
The Greek gents from The Duran examined this issue in considerable detail, with the Oracle of London explaining with great precision the actual stipulations of that memorandum:
In simple terms, the nuclear weapons that Bellendsky claims Ukraine lost, were NEVER Ukraine’s to begin with.
The reality is that those nuclear weapons – stationed in the territories of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan – belonged specifically to the government of the Soviet Union. That union incorporated all of those four Soviet Socialist Republics, plus many more besides. The USSR was – for all of its colossal and manifest failings – a true federated union.
None of that changes the reality that the USSR was a Frankenstein’s Monster of a construct, held together by military power and immense transfers of wealth from, principally, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus, to the much poorer Central Asian nations, and to the nations on the western periphery of Russia – specifically, the Baltic nations and the Caucasus republics.
When the USSR disintegrated, Russia emerged as the recognised successor state to the Evil Empire, by universal consensus of the bits of the monster that used to be the USSR. None of the other nations had anything like the power and wealth of Russia – even in its extremely degraded state in 1991. And none of them had the activation and launch codes for those nuclear weapons – the predominantly Russian senior leadership of the USSR, and the Soviet military, made sure of that.
So those nukes were basically useless unless the now-Russian government decided to activate them. But that did not make the nukes themselves harmless – because bad actors could conceivably crack them open and extract the enriched uranium and plutonium cores from the weapons to create dangerous “dirty bomb” weapons.
This is not hyperbole. You may be familiar with a movie from the mid-1990s, called The Peacemaker, starring one George Clooney (yes, the ultra-liberal twat), and Nicole Kidman. That film was based on a book, called One Point Safe, which looked at the extremely parlous state of the former Soviet nuclear arsenal, left to rot at that point throughout the extremely corrupt and cash-strapped former satrapies of the now-destroyed and thoroughly unmourned Evil Empire. The book goes into great detail about how extremely dangerous fissile materials from the former USSR’s old stockpiles, could easily have fallen into criminal and terrorist hands.
To its considerable credit, the US recognised the perils of the situation at the time, and worked with the Russian government to reclaim and repatriate those old nuclear stockpiles back to Russia.
THAT was the true basis of the Budapest Memorandum. The document itself is only 2 pages long – you can read its full text for yourself. The text of that memorandum says very clearly that the United States of America, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the Russian Federation, all pledged to give Ukraine security guarantees, and to respect the borders of Ukraine, as part of the conditions for Ukraine’s accession to the Non-Proliferation Treaty. All three signatories pledged to refrain from the use of force against Ukraine, unless in case of self-defence.
The critical sentence is this one:
The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to seek immediate United Nations Security Council action to provide assistance to Ukraine, as a non-nuclear-weapon State Party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, if Ukraine should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used.
Read the highlighted bit again. Ukraine, as a signatory to the NPT, agreed to become a non-nuclear state, and a signatory to the NPT.
Any reasonable analysis of the NPT will focus on a central tenet of the agreement, in Article II:
Each non-nuclear-weapon State Party to the Treaty undertakes not to receive the transfer from any transferor whatsoever of nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices or of control over such weapons or explosive devices directly, or indirectly; not to manufacture or otherwise acquire nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices; and not to seek or receive any assistance in the manufacture of nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices.
The logical case here is airtight:
- Ukraine never had nuclear weapons of its own – the weapons belonged to the Soviet Union, and thereafter passed on to Russia, with the agreement of Ukraine, Russia, the USA, and the United Kingdom;
- In exchange for returning those very same nuclear weapons and materials to Russia, and signing up to the legally binding international NPT, Ukraine received security guarantees from those other 3 nations;
- Ukraine therefore has no legal right whatsoever to pursue nuclear weapons, under any circumstances, or else it will be in violation of its legally binding treaty obligations;
All of this is a lawyerly argument, to be sure, and such arguments tend to go the way of the dodo under the exigencies of war. However, Bellendsky has inadvertently tripped head-first into another legal and moral quagmire:
By insisting on receiving nuclear weapons, Bellendsky has literally HANDED the Russians the complete and total moral justification for launching the SMO in the first place.
Recall why the SMO started in February 2022. It started because Ukraine announced its ironclad intention, in February of that year, at the Munich Security Conference, to join NATO. Russia had been trying to stop NATO expansion into its western periphery for 20 years, unsuccessfully. As communicated by the Russians to no less a person than US Ambassador to Russia, William Burns – today the Director of the CIA under the Fake Adminstration – the Russian government stated in 2008 that Ukraine’s accession to NATO was an absolute red line, that would provoke a full-scale Russian military response.
Mr. Burns went back to Washington and communicated directly to President Odumbass that “nyet means nyet”. And the FUSA backed off – for a while.
But then, in late 2021, as American support for Ukraine grew under the Fake President, the Russians found themselves backed into a corner. They tried to resolve and defuse the tensions by issuing two treaties to the USA and NATO, which they believed would create “indivisible security” for themselves and NATO member-states – though the Russians knew perfectly well the West would reject those treaties.
Then, in February of 2022, Bellendsky went in front of the world and announced his intention to join NATO – and Heels-Up Harris followed up by affirming that intention, and by stating that the US would arm and defend Ukraine in the event of further Russian aggression.
That was the last straw. The Russians went to war against Ukraine because they could see perfectly well that 404 would be turned into a base for housing NATO – which is to say, American – nuclear-capable missiles, aimed squarely at their territory. Those missiles, if fired, would reach Moscow and other key Russian cities in minutes, leaving literally no time to respond with anything other than the “dead-man’s hand” solution.
That would condemn the entire world to burn in nuclear fire.
The Russians invaded Ukraine to force the Ukies to the negotiating table, and to avoid World War III. They did so because the Ukrainian leadership was foolish, stupid, and crazy enough to argue in favour of securing nuclear weapons, all the way back in 2022, and becoming a member of NATO.
At the time, the Western media stranglehold drowned out the Russian point of view, and made it nearly impossible for the Russians to communicate this salient fact to the rest of the world.
This week, Bellendsky the Narcofuehrer – who is NOT a particularly smart man, though he does possess a certain animalistic cunning – literally made the Russian case for them.
They can now turn to the rest of the world and point to Bellendsky and say, “Look at what this crackhead just said. He literally wants to put nukes on his territory, pointed right at us, in violation of Ukraine’s own treaty obligations. This is what we were saying FOR TWENTY YEARS. And we were right. NOW do you get it?!?!?!”
And that message will resonate throughout the Global South – and through much of the West, too. The reality is that most Western nations, at the popular level, are absolutely sick and tired of the smelly green-shirted Jewish beggar and his absurd greed, vanity, and stupidity. They can see just how much worse their own lives have become since February 2022, ravaged by inflation and collapsing living standards – and they can see that MUH SANKSHUNS!!!! have not WERKED!!! at all against the Russians.
The Russian people are living better than ever. Their entire society has seen vast material improvements, across every income stratum. They are confident in themselves, their nation, their culture, and their military. They sense an historic opportunity to become the military and resource base of the Eurasian economic powerhouse, and they seek only to be left alone to pursue that chance.
Ukraine, meanwhile, is DOOMED. It has LOST the war – which is why Bellendsky keeps making these genuinely crazy statements about nukes.
The sooner the West recognises all is lost in Ukraine, and cuts this smelly beggar off, and lets the whole project simply collapse, the better. The Russians WILL win in 404 – the only question is how big a price they will extract when the final surrender comes.
