Apologies for the late poast, again, but being on vacation (for certain definitions of the term, admittedly – what I’ve been doing for the past 5-6 days probably isn’t in line with what most men would regard as “relaxing”) has of course put a bit of a crimp on writing. I am looking forward to providing a comprehensive set of thoughts about what I am seeing in Moscow, and Russia in general, when I get back. For the moment, I will repeat one point that I have raised several times already:
Everything I am seeing strongly indicates the West has ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE about Russia and its real industrial power.
More than that:
The West DOES NOT UNDERSTAND that Russia will WIN the war in Ukraine, and against NATO, and the West has NO HOPE WHATSOEVER of prevailing.
I have spent quite a bit of time walking around southern Moscow over the last few days – particularly in the Cheryomushki and Universitet areas, around Leninskiy Prospekt. I have also been to some of the mid-size and very large shopping malls in Moscow. ALL of the evidence I see is of a booming economy, with people having substantially greater disposable income and spending power than I have seen at any point since my first trip to Russia in 2017.
There are very few closed-down storefronts. Western brands that left, have been thoroughly and completely replaced by Russian, Chinese, Arab, and Southeast Asian analogues. Several big and very expensive Western brands that officially stated they were leaving, have quietly maintained a presence in Russia.
Even the signature Western mainstream lower- and middle-income consumerist brands have simply been rapidly replaced by local analogues – often using the same assets as the previous companies had, but bought at fire-sale prices, which gives them almost limitless financial upside.
Therefore, McDonald’s has become Вкусно И Точка (Tasty and That’s It, or Just Tasty – depending on how you want to translate it). KFC has become Rostic’s. Starbuck’s has become Stars. All of them serve the exact same food, under different names – and, because Russia has an absolute prohibition on GMO foods, their food actually TASTES GOOD.
Moreover, the local brands often eclipse the foreign ones in terms of both quality and price.
If you go to Cofix, for instance, you can get better coffee than you do at Starbuck’s (Stars, these days) in the US, or, if you prefer, Costa, Caffe Nero, and about a half-dozen other chains in the UK. You can also get a decent selection of both hot and cold foods, and desserts. And the total damage will be about 15-40% less than what you will pay for one of the former Western brands.
It is not all roses, of course. Prices certainly have increased overall, from what I have seen. Relative to what I remember from 2020, I would estimate prices have gone up between 30% and 70% for many items, especially the most expensive ones. If you want to buy Western luxury goods – Ray-Ban’s sunglasses, for example – you had better be prepared to pay a markup of between 50% and 150% (yes, you read that correctly). This is because of the costs imposed by systems of parallel imports, whereby importers take goods from Western countries, bring them to a third country like Kazakhstan or Turkey, and then import them into Russia.
But, overall, there is NO SIGN WHATSOEVER of an economy in free-fall.
And before any pro-Western shill who might read this is idiotic enough to tell me I have no idea what an economy in free-fall looks like – keep in mind, I am old enough to remember the Asian Financial Crisis and the collapse of the Indonesian economy. I was there when it happened. I personally saw accountants and bank managers turned almost overnight into taxi drivers and street hawkers.
Moreover, I remember full well what happened during the Global Financial Crisis of 2008. Again, I WAS THERE – quite literally within walking distance of Ground Zero for the Bear Stearns implosion.
I know, better than most, what it is like to live through financial and economic collapse. I understand the signs. And I can say with absolute confidence that I see NONE of them in Russia – over two years into the most hellish MUH SANKSHUNS!!! regime ever imposed on any nation.
So I say again – this is NOT a war the West can win. In fact, it has already LOST.
If the leaders of Clown World had the sense God gave a honey badger, Western leaders and publics would understand this now, and sue for some form of peace that would allow them to preserve the utterly degenerate and evil state of their circus-prison for a little while longer.
Instead, Clown World continues to double and triple and quadruple down on STUPID, and as such, will be destroyed in a matter of years – perhaps months, at most.
This is very much to the good. The world NEEDS to be rid of the utterly despicable and evil GloboHomoPaedoPharisatanist vampiric cult that rules over the West. And the numerous members of the Small-Hat Crowd, who are enmeshed so thoroughly within Clown World, need to understand that they, like the rest of their non-Tribe Clowns, will be judged and punished with the most extreme harshness, for what they have done.
That is not my view – though I share it entirely. That is what the Big Fella Upstairs Hizzself says, over and over and over again, in the Good Book.
Anyway, enough of such serious matters for now. Let us turn to more entertaining things, as it were.
This week’s lovely lady is Ana Maria Markovich, age 24 from Czechia. She is a professional women’s sportzballist, which apparently involves kicking a big round ball thingy with her feet. I’ve no idea if she is any good, since I refuse to watch wammzes sportz and such – I have long since abandoned the bread-and-circuses thing for more interesting pursuits. But, she has a nice smile, and she looks rather good in a bikini.
Happy weekend, all.
