Since my capacity for deep thought is rather limited today, due to the extraordinarily busy few days I’ve had, I will spare you my usual nonsense about geopolitics and current events. All I will say is that today is День Защитника Отетчества (Day of the Defender of the Fatherland) over in Mordor – er, Russia.
This is basically their version of Father’s Day, Veterans’ Day, Flag Day, and Army Day, all rolled into one. While it is not quite as solemn an occasion as Victory Day (May 9th), the day on which they commemorate winning the Second World War – yes, they actually DID win it – today is still a major Federal holiday in the country.
So it is worth celebrating, Russian-style, with music and booze.
Now, my taste in booze does not run to vodka, as I am not overly fond of tasteless liquor made from potatoes. My tastes run to liquor made from rather more sophisticated things, like grapes or malt barley. But that is a personal matter.
My taste in music, on the other hand, is of course absolutely UNIMPEACHABLE. So we’ll have some of that here:
And on that (perhaps discordant) note, let’s get to this week’s lovely lady.
She is Valeriya Alekseevna Ganzha (Валерия Алексеевна Ганжа), age 27 or so (I think), from Moscow. I have no idea what she does, but apparently it involves… modelising, or whatever the kids call it these days.
Happy Friday, everyone, enjoy your weekends.

When the Soviets had their shit completely together, you really didn’t want to be on the receiving end. They still don’t, really, in the Ukraine, yet, but they are clearly getting better and fixing at least some significant deficiencies.
