“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

A very disappointing audition indeed

Need a new Batman? We’ll just get Ben Affleck

Is anyone still operating under the delusion that Ben Affleck will be able to do the goddamn BATMAN justice in the upcoming Superman/Batman movie this year?

If so, just take a look at what happened with 2003’s Daredevil:

Can we all now please stop pretending that Henry Cavill is a good Superman and that Ben Affleck might be a good Batman?

Yes, I believe the Unified Theory of Passive-Aggressive Positivism prevalent in the West has caused some poor, delusional folks to go ahead, ante up and place their bets for Affleck. "OMG! Affleck is, like, you know, AWESOME! I don't care what you say, he's gonna be AWESOME!"

Man of Steel was a nihilistic bit of boring cinema. Lots of big things exploded, and Russell Crowe as Jor-El aside, the only thing I felt after watching it thoroughly a couple of times (to see if I was missing something), was consternation that there is nothing to feel from the film. Lots of cool looking things, nothing more. I was hoping, at some point, Superman might wake Amy Adams from her coma that she played the role while in. But no such luck.
