So yesterday the Prime Minister of the old country announced that the whole damn thing is going to be put on a national lockdown for 21 days. This is, quite simply, nothing short of a catastrophe, because as usual the government of the country is a plague upon its people and follows a “READY, FIRE, AIM!” approach to national policy.
As a consequence of this lockdown, one of the poorest countries in the world, with possibly the largest population in the world, is going to go straight into an economic meltdown. And as hard as a three-week lockdown is on Americans, it will be EXPONENTIALLY harder on people from the Dirt World who have no savings or safety net upon which to fall back.
This also hits me in a pretty personal way. My parents are now basically completely confined to their own home for the next three weeks. And it is not clear, at this point, whether grocery stores and pharmacies will be open – which means that the critical medicines and supplies that they need in order to stay healthy, will be difficult to come by, at best.
So if you have a moment to spare, I would be deeply grateful if you could send a prayer their way to help them get through what is coming.
I try to live by my own words – admittedly I don’t do a particularly good job, most of the time. That means that I pray for my own readers and I hope that all of you are safe and well during a very difficult time for everyone right now.
Let’s be clear about this: times are going to be very, very hard for the next few weeks to couple of months.
But we are going to get through this together. We are not given a spirit of fear by our Lord; we are instead called to depend upon Him for guidance and strength during times of testing, as this surely is.
Do not despair, my brother, do not lose hope. We will get through this. There is already evidence that we can see with our own eyes that we are turning the corner and that this viral outbreak will die out soon.
In the meantime, stay healthy, stay safe, take lots of Vitamin C and D3 and zinc, get some sunshine and keep a humidifier running, wash your hands frequently, and enjoy the slower pace of life while it lasts.

Consider it done.
Thank you very much, I greatly appreciate it.
I will pray for you and your family in this dark time.
Thank you, I am very grateful for your prayers.
No Corona-chan in my neck of the woods. Yet. We are taking care of others by mailing supplies where we're able. Not sure if the postal service works where you are.
I posted elsewhere on the internets that this is NOT the end-times, because I believe God gives us a chance to right the ship before He goes apeshit on us. I see much evidence of people waking up.
I pray that your parents make it through this, and they are able to enjoy what is sure to come. Hopefully they will see the glory of Christ in the aftermath as well.
Thank you, I have no doubt that prayers will help us all stay strong and keep our spirits light during these difficult times.
I'll keep you and your folks in my prayers and thoughts. I can only imagine. TPTB here are incompetent enough. I can't fathom what they are in India.
If it's like here, mostly the shelter in place has been ignored. True, many businesses were told to close, but there are people in the stores, doing what they do, mostly stupid shit. Here in Dallas, a judge and the county health guy showed these outrageous graphs. Nowhere in the world does a metroplex of 4M lose 25% to this. It's simply not going to happen. Using what we know, it's more like 2K dead, in a model where there are no variables. This is a sprawling place though. Still , Aesop is correct in that they really didn't plan.
That's the problem. In an election year, no one wants to be the guy that gets caught holding the bag when grandma croaks. They want to be seen doing something.
This is surely the event that detonates the peak crisis phase of the 4th turning.
