A couple of weeks back I posted a clip from TOP GEAR – y’know, back when it was still good, as in, still hosted by the three blokiest blokes ever to bloke across a TV screen – which gave us a few good belly laughs about a chap with the last name of Chuffart who works for a new Italian supercar company called Icona.

I belly-laughed along with the clip, wrote up a post, and thought no more of it.

Turns out, though, that I missed a trick. Because it just so happens that Mr. Samuel Chuffart is, in fact, quite real:

Boy, I would hate to be in his shoes now that his name has been revealed to the world.

Thing is, though, that the surname “Chuffart” is not actually English in origin. As far as anyone can tell, it is actually French.

That does not stop the English-speaking world from seeing that name and simply collapsing from laughter, of course.
