I think you may be right that the left didn’t want to light off a civil war over a candidate with the only claim to fame was that she had a middle class raised vagina. The fact she lost suburban women says a lot.

I think part of it was that a lot of states shored up their voting laws, and the right was ready for the cheat, so fought off what attempts there were.

Also may have been cash. Takes a few dollars to print and distribute ballots. She spent over a billion and is now $20m in debt.

There was a change in them after Trump took a bullet. That and he was open to all sorts of long form interviews. At that point they shoved her out there, well out of her comfort zone, and she blew it. They had to realize at that point she was screwed.

BTW – it’s very, very rare in this country that a VP succeeds a president. Only one I can think of was Bush 1, and that was because Reagan left him a super prosperous country.
