I was trying to run mass effect 3 which I own on the ea app on lutris on mint. Graphics were bad and it lagged, I read it was made for arch Linux, so I installed Bazzite. It worked straight away, after setting up, also command and conquer generals. With steam on mint I tried their flat pack, it was bad, I went to the steam store and download the DEB. Package and it sort of work. The games were hit or miss, on Bazzite so far I tried several games, with only total war shogun 2 crashing my system (turning it off part way into a campaign. Civ 5 work great, Left for dead great, and some roms. I will give Garuda a try, I am also going to Drauger, Catchy Os and Chimera Os. It weird addiction so far. I will 100% agree Linux is not yet the best for gaming, windows still has it beat. A part of it is too many options and different distros, and many programs made for windows. A steam Os would solve some of the issues

From what I have seen and heard, some of the Arch-based distributions might be better for Linux gaming. Garuda Linux, in particular, is one I can recommend - I have tried it, and it has a slick KDE-based interface with some great features designed specifically for Steam-based Linux gaming.

As a general rule, Linux is still not a native gaming platform, though Steam has gone a long way to changing that.

Also, try installing Steam using the .DEB package from their website, instead of through the Linux Mint software repository. That might help.

OBS Studio for streaming/video capture, and OpenShot for video editing (well, the one or two times I've attempted it). Both of which are completely free and available via the Linux Mint Software Manager.

I just installed Linux Mint on my PC to test out. I do not want to upgrade to windows 11. It seems easy. Just need to remember all my password and accounts. I can not wait to test a few things. Hey Didactic what do you use for video editing?

The good orthodox father isn't necessarily right about Roman Catholicism. I teach fail formation in a parish, and I haven't seen any material that teaches Satan, sin, demons, or a vengeful God. If anything, it's too lightweight. You know, when Jesus saved the adulterous woman, he didn't say 'you're fabulous the way you are" he said sin no more. The way it's taught is God is loving and will forgive nearly anything. They gloss over the teachings that you must seek forgiveness and reconciliation with those you hurt, before he'll forgive you. "And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us."

Hell, I know a great, young priest that was put on sabbatical because the purple parish he served wasn't digging what he was saying about sin and forgiveness. Especially when it comes to divorce, which is like contraception. It's a sin in the faith, but you aren't allowed to call it out. He gave a homily where he said if you divorced, you are compelled to file for an annulment. Stroked a lot of fur backwards that day. Being in that boat, I looked into it. 2-3 years of misery for some Pharisees to decide yay or nay.

Far as Winders 11, fuggit. I have a laptop running Mint Linux, and bought a Macbook to replace my old tower. There is very little Microsoft does that I can't do elsewhere, if I even need it at all. Office comes to mind.

This newest Windoze 11 update fiasco might be the last straw for me. I shouldn't have to worry about a forced update potentially ruining my PC, and it'll keep getting worse so long as Mr. Softy keeps relying on AI and subcontinentals to maintain its code base.

I'm going to tweak it into oblivion and then I might check out Lunix Mint. Then again, I only really see Windoze for 15-20 seconds before launching a game. Productivity is what my work computer is for.
