It happen to the Battleship during WW1 and death nail in WW2. During WW1 major powers (Britain and Germany) were so afraid of losing them that they only used them once in combat. By the end of WW2 they were only used as support but slow shut down. If Iran is not stop by the Aircraft Carrier due to the fear of the US in losing them, then it is the same affect. Meaning powers will not care. USA losses the fear, this is a major problem in the Middle East.

Honestly USA getting involved in Iran at this time was a mistake that history might remember like the Sicilian Expedition. The Athenians thought the conquest of Syracuse would be easy, it cost them so much. To be honest even if there were a victory there would of still been the end of Athens since the treasures and lives loss weaken them to Sparta. Even if USA wins with Iran, it will weaken the USA to such a stage as to let China and Russia get more powerful. Trump should of known, we can only hope they sue for peace soon.
