Clarke short story “Superiority,” which I’m sure I’ve plugged on here before. In short: some egghead convinces a society at war to abandon grinding but successful conventional weapons and warfare for potentially war-ending wunderwaffen, with disastrous results when the enemy doubles down on low-tech fighting.

Halo is definitely lost, and I am slightly worried about the new DOOM game (which looks amazeballs), but I’m confident that id can resist Mr. Softy’s DIE influence and deliver, given how incredible the last two games were. 2016 is an awesome throwback, Eternal is different, more of a “stylish action” game like Bayonetta/DMC, and has a ridiculously stupid story that tries way too hard to tie everything together and give Doomguy and his universe a coherent backstory, but really grew on me over time.

I know X/Twitter isn’t reality, but it’s clear to me from it and the MSM going back into full TDS mode that the entire lefty apparatus that’s been tyrannizing and gaslighting normal Americans for the past 5 years has no clue how deeply and absolutely hated they are by basically everyone. We’re witnessing a preference cascade where it’s no longer cool or edgy to be a liberal, and it’s awesome.
