The fact that there is an ‘S’ in ‘BRICS’ means it is more about being woke than having economic clout. South Africa is far too small to even be in this group. It has a GDP that is not even 2% that of China.

Frankly, ‘C’ does not need anyone else, but ‘BRI’ at least have some size to them.
