One rather large problem with that logic – most banks do not actually have very much cash in their vaults. If you look at the Fed’s own stats, the total amount of cash in circulation is around US$54B, which sounds like a lot – until you look at the total amount of the money supply, and you realise that it is a fraction of a percent of the total money outstanding in the system.

The vast majority of money in the USSA, and the EUSSR, is in digital form on electronic ledgers – not cryptocurrency, just stored in virtual form. Cash is falling out of circulation and will continue to do so well into the future. Even if armed citizens in America raid banks and demand their money back – a very unlikely possibility, given how craven and broken the American populace has become – the banks themselves have nowhere near enough money to give back.
