100% agreed – I’ve read those books as well, they are very good. But there is a LOT of dreck within the expanded universe literature.

You’d never expect the backstory of a game about painted dolls fighting to not only be profound, but moving as well. Highly, highly recommended.

It’s a shame that BL decided to drown that series in so many pointless spinoffs that I completely lost interest.
