There is no need to apologise, my friend. It's just a sad story all around. The woman in question committed a great sin - she threw away the great gift of God, and that is a real tragedy.

Ultimately, the officer made a bad mistake, but as you and I know, he didn't do so with malicious intent. May God forgive him for his transgression - and may He forgive the soul of the woman who took her own life, as well.

This is a great digest of the status quo of the world every week, and I expect any historian going through this time years from now will benefit greatly from it. He might even enjoy the instathots in a strange retro kind of way.
Microsoft deserves the ultimate turd medal for making Martin Odonell take them to court for Halo royalties. That man redefined an entire genre of music. Music in video games before Halo sucked. Repetitive and derivative Herbie Hancock synthcrap ruled the day. Odonnel brought in monks and gravity and violins. This would be like 20th Century Fox screwing John Williams over in with Star Wars.
The great Ludwig was part of the musical accompaniment today! I found this to be a tremendously entertaining watch. "I Hired A Random Guy to Remix Beethoven's 5th Symphony" https://youtu.be/LNRBhq2oV8k
This guy has some things going for him:

- High Energy and bounce charisma
- One of the finest classical pieces ever created as a foundation
- He spends some REAL MONEY to make this video
- These guys on fiver are pretty damn clever with music.
- The $75 (5:30-6:30) guy is my favorite, but all of these are pretty sharp

Hi Didactic thought about last night,
You are right.
I am sorry.

I was judging this officer on one wrong decision with bias glasses.

The lockdowns and enforcement of the mandates by cops has change how I view them but it does not change the fact that what this guy does on the help line has saved lives. Also I reading this off an article, how do I know what the guy is like. I know I would not want to be judge off an article or some other media.

I'm not saying that what he did was right. It plainly wasn't. A woman took her own life, and he bears some of the blame for that. He was rightly dismissed from his post and will face disciplinary action. He acted wrongly and will pay a price for it - this is just.

At the same time - the woman called 25 or more times in 5 minutes. This indicates hysterical and disturbed behaviour, which the officer may have believed to be a weird form of attention-seeking (incorrectly, as it happens).

All I'm saying is that, given the officer received literally one call every 20 seconds from the same person, he reacted angrily when under pressure. I certainly didn't phrase my sentence properly above, but I'm not sure I would be able to avoid really going off at someone when placed in a similar situation.

What he did was unequivocally WRONG. But I don't believe that he did it with true malice. And that is the key. He did express repentance and remorse, and he did save a lot of lives during his career.

"This story about a woman who called a cop dozens of times, threatening to kill herself, and then he told her to go do it, and she did, is sad, but you kind of have to agree with the cop on this one;"

Why do you kind of agree with the cop?

I know that it would be stressful and annoying to have calls like this but the police is paid by the public. Also the family is now lost one daughter or sister. If a officer said this to a family member of my and they killed themselves, well it would be very hard to forgive this officer (unless he was repentance).

This is what he said (in the article) while another officer is laughing

(In the original call, the officer told the woman: “God has not taken you yet? God willing, he will take you already. You’re an idiot who wants to kill herself, so kill yourself quietly already. Go and kill yourself without telling us anything. We’re on our way to you, you idiot. Stay there.”

The young woman could be heard crying in the audio recording, while another policewoman laughed in the background.)

Now I have said stuff that I regret saying (especially in my younger days) and would love to turn back time for some of things I said. Especially about Jesus and God.

In this article maybe it is just me and if it is then I take back. It comes off as the cop does not sound sorry for actions that might of push the women killing herself or for the family's lost.

(“They made me out to be such a bad and unhinged person. For 29 years I have been serving this system… I saved a lot of people who tried to kill themselves. Just two days before that I rescued another woman who wanted to kill herself… But this woman was being a nuisance,” he said in the recording.)

Anyway Didact may God bless you today
