What is most astonishing is that in the middle 90’s the DOD faced a choice:
1. F35 from Lockheed, of the f-16 and skunkworks fame
2. X-32B from Boeing, of the f-15 and the f-18
3. DO NOTHING from .gov hell and let everyone chew on you for failing to snap out of the cold war battlespace mindset

This failure should be attributed to boomers and a legacy of public education. It’s from the engineers and development captains of the late 80’s and early 90’s from the corporate big boys and left the nation with no good options.

Option 3 was the right choice. But it’s not really a choice.

Well, any big contracts with the U.S government certainly includes piles of cash on machinery that is not useful. LM is laughing all the way to the bank, but not for long after telling their executives to go through ‘white male privilege’ training.

As long as politicians keep pulling that money lever from the central bank, they will keep buying useless shit like the f35.

The F35 is a manifestation of how jacked up our rulers are.

But as a program, it’s delivering just fine.

Once you realize that these programs goal is to grease palms and line pockets, it all makes sense.

It has zero to do with producing a competent fighter. Just as Obamacare had nothing to do with delivering healthcare.
