"Fourth: Trump represents a movement, not an end in and of itself. If you look back to the Fall of the Roman Republic (not the Empire), the growing alienation of the aristocratic Senate from the interests of the people led to first the Gracchi, then Sulla, and finally Caesar. Trump is the first sign of the coming revolution. And when – not if – the system collapses, which will probably be in 2025 at this point, the ensuing backlash and bloodshed will make even the War Between the States look like a mild dinner table disagreement by comparison."

Excellent analysis. I believe Trump was the Gracchi Brothers, who were negotiators, much like Trump is a negotiator. The Grachhi's paid the ultimate price, death. Trump was politically killed, but as you said the movement is moving on. So, since history repeats itself, just the names change, a "Sulla" will be next. When I try to explain in very plain english to family members (siblings and in-laws) what is going to happen in the coming years, I am dismissed as a conspiracy theorist. I guess I've read to much history? Matt Bracken has often said, it will be Rwanda x Bosnia x 2. I have that same feeling plus throw in the Spanish Civil War and the Troubles of Northern Ireland (400-600 IRA pinned down over 14K Brits in various government functions).

The 2025 date, may be early? Vox's has said 2033? I have no clue as to when, but the 2025-2033 timeframe is not going to be pretty at all.

I get triggered every time some corrupt politician says "our democracy" (as in, "the Arizona audit needs to be investigated because it's a threat to our democracy."). It's like their new "we're all in this together," which also pissed me off since the politicians constantly breaking all of their own rules they set for us showed that we obviously weren't.

That said, America is a democracy in all but name now thanks to the 17th amendment removing the last of the states' influence. It was originally founded as a republic because the founding fathers knew their history and realized that democracy always ends in blood, tears, or both. Once 50% of the people + 1 realize that they can vote to enslave the other half (or in our case, vote themselves the other half's money), it's basically game over.

Some of my favorite democracy quotes:
“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what they are going to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.” -Benjamin Franklin

"Democracy is two rapists and a pretty young girl voting on tonight's entertainment." -Variation on above.

"‘Bread and Circuses’ is the cancer of democracy, the fatal disease for which there is no cure. Democracy often works beautifully at first. But once a state extends the franchise to every warm body, be he producer or parasite, that day marks the beginning of the end of the state. For when the plebs discover that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the body politic cannot stop them, they will do so, until the state bleeds to death, or in its weakened condition the state succumbs to an invader—the barbarians enter Rome.”
-Robert A. Heinlein

Anyways, Halo Infinite sure looks cool!
