I was putting together a rebuttal for how the Crystal Star is so bad, it rates below the schlock from Disney.
(And Barbara Hambly too, who think’s Luke falling in love with a ship is a good idea?)

Then I think to myself “what do you remember from the Crystal Star?”
“Of course nothing, that is part of what makes it terrible.”
“…”
“…well, there was that one part of the storyline that involved Han and a reliance on cash and how the cash market could never be excised from existence because even under the Empire people liked to buy things they like.”
“What do you remember from the Force Awakens?”
“Actually, almost nothing. Certainly nothing so insightful as that cash concept.”

Then I realized, Didact was right.

A pox on all of Mount Mickey for it’s destruction. They made the Crystal Star shine in comparison.

The pre-Disney films, prequels included, still occupy the S-tier of my favorite movie list. But the kid who bought and played every video game and book in the 90’s and 00’s, and saw two out of three prequels at midnight showings? He’s gone, and the Devil Mouse killed him.
