Well, it’s finally time to take a bit of a break for me. Two weeks of “holidays” – which in reality will involve quite a bit of work – commence starting today. Still and all, it will be nice to be able to wake up when I like, not have to join yet another stupid Zoom call, and walk outside and feed the birds whenever I want to. (I do the latter anyway, but it’s nice to be able to do so without any real time pressure.)
Actually, I’m not fooling anyone – the reality is that I’m going to spend the next three days doing very little of anything other than BLASTING MY WAY THROUGH ALL OF THE HALO GAMES!!! yet again. Lord, but I do love me those games.
My own rather misanthropic ideas of a great holiday aside, it’s worth taking a moment to remember that next week we celebrate Easter.
Monday is Passover for my friends in the Tribe. Speaking of which, our good friend The Male Brain has sent over lots of stuff to make the Pesach season a memorable one for his people and ours.
And, of course, at the end of the week, we Christians will mourn the death, and celebrate the resurrection, of our mighty Lord and Saviour, the King of Kings, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
I bring all of this up to remind you that this is a season of hope and faith. We have much to be thankful for, and more to look forward to in the coming days.
Yes, the world appears to be going to Hell in a handcart. That is a deliberate ploy by the Great Enemy to make us despair and give up hope. And he is VERY good at doing precisely that. Many of us HAVE given up hope. We have failed to understand the lessons that our Lord is trying to teach us. We need to trust in Him, in His Son, and in the plan.
And make no mistake, my friends – no matter how random things might seem, no matter how crazy or ridiculous or stupid, there is a plan at work. We just can’t see it very well. But it’s there. You just have to look for it.
And with that message of hope, let us get to the lovely lady of the week.
Her name is Avital Cohen, age 25, from Israel (of course), and I promise you that the fact that I picked a Jewish lady for the Friday before Passover is entirely coincidental. Seriously, I had her picked out like two weeks ago, and it didn’t even occur to me that this was right before Pesach. (Actually, the title of this post comes from the translation of “Tel Aviv” – I’m given to understand that it literally means “hill of spring”. I’ve been to Tel Aviv personally, and can confirm that it is a very beautiful, very charming city.) Nonetheless, I’m sure the coincidence will amuse our friends in the Tribe no end. Apparently her father is from Yemen and her mother is from Morocco, which explains her rather unusual looks for a sabra (I think I used that term in its more-or-less-correct context). She’s quite famous on Instaham for flogging various fitness products and routines, and I think she’s a Bang Energy model of some note.
If she isn’t plastic too, I’ll be extremely surprised. But she did serve in the IDF – which is a lot more than can be said of, oh, say, Bar Rafaeli – so she’s got that going for her.
Happy Friday, lads. Take it easy, enjoy the weekend, rest and recover a bit, and come back spoilin’ for a fight – because, sure as shit, we’re getting one whether we like it or not. So we might as well look forward to it, eh?
