I have a friend in the writing trade, and what he has to say about ticket taking is rather interesting.

He makes more from translations of his works than he makes from the originals written in a specific dialect of English.

When I asked him whether he cares about that, he said at first it bothered him that he wasn't widely read in America, and then it didn't.

Why did he stop caring?

Because he knew to reach out to those Americans, he would have to take the ticket.

He doesn't have to take the ticket to reach people who read his works translated into other languages, and the numbers of people who read him in translation outstrip all of those who read him in his native American English.

<i>"In terms of maintaining a sound moral outlook, I'd be better off writing for the Russians, because they're not asking me to give up my core values. Also, I tend to sell more to Russians."</i>

And so there's an American writer I know who genuinely doesn't give a toss about writing for debauched Americans.

<i>To what extent have nearly all Americans taken the ticket?</i>

Recent events have led to a public demonstration that even the highest court of law in the land is overrun with corruption and illegitimacy, with so few exceptions to the rule that not even a proper hearing for justice could prevail.

The point isn't that one group or another is necessarily right about its claims, but instead that not even a proper hearing of the legitimacy of the results could be countenanced, and so the claims of all parties in the election are necessarily illegitimate until otherwise proved.

Just as The Vatican has an illegitimate Pope, the United States has an illegitimate President as well as an illegitimate government.

I am also American, and I believe that Americans in the main actually want this state of affairs.

I see very little to convince me otherwise since I see the glad-handing "nation of salesmen" acting like they genuinely believe they can raise all of their leaky boats together by means of back-stopping each other's corruption.

So the fix was in, it was always in.

Americans don't really want justice so much as bragging rights in an absurd contest of injuries.

Perhaps I should meet with a genealogist to fully establish my 1/256th Caribbean Islander status in order to extract as many giro transfers as possible from the American welfare state.

Eventually Samson says, hey, why not, I'd look good with a shave and a haircut. :-)
