“We are Forerunners. Guardians of all that exists. The roots of the Galaxy have grown deep under our careful tending. Where there is life, the wisdom of our countless generations has saturated the soil. Our strength is a luminous sun, towards which all intelligence blossoms… And the impervious shelter, beneath which it has prospered.”

The original “apocalyptic dingleberry”

Apparently my use of the term is a cause for some amusement among my readers – rightly so, of course. In case any of you are wondering why i keep telling people to comment under a name, even if it’s just something as silly as “Apocalyptic Dingleberry”, this of course comes from what was once the greatest TV show…

……
………
IN THE WORLD!!!:

There are at least three different definitions of the word, “dingleberry“, and you can pretty much guess which one Captain Slow meant when he was talking to Jezza:

1 USinformal a foolish, stupid, or contemptible person
Something about human nature makes us all think we are the best drivers on the road at any given time. It’s everyone else who are the dingleberries.— Kelly Kazek
They shouldn’t have to leave jobs they love with people they like—because of some dingleberry with a wandering eye.— Caroline Overington
2: a cranberry (Vaccinium erythrocarpum) of the southeastern U.S.
alsoits small dark red berry
3 slang a piece of dried fecal matter clinging to the hair around the anus
Get over the ick factor and check your pet’s rear regularly to make sure no dingleberries are dangling from his fur.— Kim Campbell Thornton

Well, there you are then. So, as always – y’all carry on being awesome commenters, and I’ll carry on with this great experiment in shitposting, and we’ll all have a grand old time.

  1. Post Alley Crackpot

Ever noticed that most Americans when pressed on what their favourite BPL team happens to be, they say Arse-nal?

Apocalyptic Dingleberry IS the American default. 🙂

Couldn’t Americans mix it up a bit and say Bristol City?

Wearing a shirt that says GO BRISTOLS sorts most people out here anyway.

Apparently Americans love their Arse-nal while Brits prefer Bristols. 🙂
