That was my take on Snowden's case as well. He had the balls to do what most of the IC refused to do. And it's becoming increasingly clear that he was a hero, not a traitor.

I'd say you're probably right. If he gets even HALF of his 2nd-Term agenda done, he will go down in history as one of the three greatest Presidents ever. And he's going to do it knowing exactly who his enemies are and how to handle them, tempered by 4 years of bitter and hard-won experience.

He still is not a wartime Don, so to speak – I've been watching The Godfather films of late – but he's a lot better than any of the alternatives, by far.

Because that's the deal you make by being in "the Intelligence Community" or "the IC" in the first place.

There are plenty of people who don't like the spying on citizens routines, the manufacturing of dossiers against otherwise ordinary people, and so when Edward Snowden broke news of the absurd scope of it, there were plenty of people to support in private what he did.

This was not because it made their jobs easier, but because they always knew that there was something rotten to this game of spying on ordinary people, protecting the world's corrupt, and so forth, and perhaps there would be something to this sudden inrush of sunlight that might make it less awful.

Instead, it was essentially buried by the Global Vichy's co-conspirators in the mainstream media, and plenty of people chose retirement instead of sticking around for one day after another of arbitraging their souls in order to preserve these most unnatural meta-nationalities within nations.

And so you have to hand it to someone who could have retired but instead chose to break the backs of the people who have kept the entire infernal affair alive …

Unless these people drop a Maoist agitator on my doorstep and a note with instructions written in green ink with a hand to it that I recognise, I'll be enjoying my remaining retirement in some out of the way place that isn't near the X marks the spots.

But I will be keeping an eye on that doorstep.
