She ran the company into the dirt, eventually merging with Alcatel. When that happened, for God knows why, they sidelined Alcatel's functioning CEO and kept her, where she continued her path of cluelessness and ruination until they tossed her out in 2008 or so, with a stock price several multiples lower from where it started.

She's not the only one, just an example of a woman put in the pilot seat and crashing the plane. I'll never get why they get a second and third chance. After the first gigantic failure, you'd think they would be toxic.

Correct. The SJWs who run these places think that the rest of us are simply too stupid and dimwitted to understand this. And actually, they are right – up to a point. People take a long time to get angry over subtle propaganda; that's been the whorenalist media's stock in trade for decades, and they've gotten extremely good at selling Leftist agitprop under a "reasonable" guise. But over-the-top propaganda is easy to spot and easy to avoid. The mistake that the SJWs made was to switch to the OTT stuff too soon.

Ignoring the immediate availability of unbiased reviews for a second, anything but the most game for the buck will be pushed down the proverbial slope and these days you have to have a wide audience simply because large chunks of your audience are flat busted

The SJW's that might like that have much less money, people that are indifferent have less money and people with antipathy to the message won't buy it anyway.

Most of my gaming dollars in the past year have gone towards eBay purchases of every NES and SNES cartridge that I wanted as a kid but never owned. Retro games may have their issues, but at least they're not converged, and it's also nice to be playing inside of 10 seconds and not have to wait for a 20 GB patch to download and install. I got more enjoyment last night from blasting through Mega Man X in an hour for the 20th time than I have from any AAA game made after 2010 or so.
