Not to mention chunks of something remarkably similar to Malaria... enough so that Malaria treatments are often effective, even though it is a Virus and not a parasite.

The fact that it is a frankenstein bug is so obvious...

"Given the explosive nature of the contents, who knows how long YouTube, Google, and their Chinese Communist overlords will let the video stay up, so watch it while you can."

That's what Greasemonkey and the YouTube Links script by "nhyone" via Greasy Fork are for. These actually work together correctly most of the time, and in many cases you can get at least 720p resolution videos, as is the case with this one.

Go get them and use them so you'll avoid the bother with things you like on YouTube disappearing into the memory hole.

Also, TechieDude: there's a theory going around that this is an evolved version of something started by the infamous Unit 731, which if you know the history of that particular organisation uncomfortably points a certain way before current events rather obviously point back to China.

As for China's rhetoric that their Wuhan facility was doing "civilian bio-research"?

What's the difference between "civilian bio-research" trying to find a "cure" and "military bio-research" trying to find an "antidote"?

Ultimately it's whether the PR flacks wear dress uniforms, khaki, or camo at briefings.

I saw that movie earlier in the week. There are way too many dots lining up to discount.

That there is most definitely quacking like a duck, so a duck it is.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, since they can't be that stupid to do this on purpose. They'll pay a heavy price for this as everyone and their mother will be moving away from them.

They clearly were playing with something they shouldn't have been playing with and it got loose. God knows why they were fiddling with this. But it clearly started there, and they clearly screwed the pooch in the first months it was in the wild. And now, they'll never fess up, or even help. They'd lose too much face.

I think it's diabolical they are allowing the rumors that the US did this and brought it to China when there's prima facie evidence their girl was running this.

"... one of the key proteins generated by this virus match that of HIV ..."

The withdrawn Indian research paper was not wrong, BTW.

It was just politically inconvenient for certain groups who have been peddling influence within the "scientific community".

Here's something even worse to think about: in addition to the gp120 and gp42 bits lurking in that "bat soup" which wasn't, what if there were also some heavily garbled sections of tat as well?

The first and second-order realisations aren't the interesting ones. Accept those as given, and then see where that leads.

Even clever people need adequate funding: if they don't already have it, how do you expect they are going to get it?

This doesn't end up where you first may think it does, BTW.

Some people may think, "Oh, come on, just come out and say it!"

No, because Leo Strauss's reflections on Maimonides happen to be correct, and that there are some topics that must be reserved for the people in the room who are capable of decoding the real-world applications of Raven's Matrices.

Even if a few of them may be covertly evil, you still have to have the conversation with the rest without being distracted by the others ...

What other functions does jargon serve besides the compression of concepts into symbolic tokens that may be manipulated by shorthand?
