This is one of the stupidest, asinine, and ridiculous things I have ever read. Only a weak man would think anything here is correct or true.

I think the man who wrote it and those who agree are the real pussies in this situation.

There is nothing more to say about it.

This marriage ended before your story came out. She was pregnant when they separated and now it seems as though he's a deadbeat dad.

Evidence?

You could very well be right. I don't particularly care about what happens to Mrs. (or Ms., now, perhaps) House, but I'd like to make sure I've got my facts straight. I'm just not able to confirm it for myself, and I don't really bother keeping up with celebrity gossip. All I know is that she used to be married once upon a time and then got married again.

Didact:

Some other facts about Ms. House:

Her marriage to Mr. Schmelzer is her third marriage. According to her website, she was married first at 21 for a few months, again in her late 20s for 4 years, and now, at 40, to Mr. Schmelzer.

Her son was born when she was 37, in "another relationship". One wonders whether that was really a relationship or if it was from a sperm donor matched with her frozen eggs.

Troy Schmelzer is a partner at the LA office of Baker and Hostetler. He's a high powered high octane intellectual property lawyer - a highly specialized , highly paid practice area. He holds degrees in electrical engineering and law - so he's possibly kind of a geeky type. By the dates of his education he went straight from his BS in electrical engineering to law school so it's doubtful he ever worked as an engineer. He has 3 kids by a prior marriage/relationship. By education dates he's at least 51 years old. He's probably pulling down at least $400K annually.

This is a guy who is dating in his age range. But he could have dated someone with a better track record and with no kids. He doesn't think he settled, I would bet. Ms. House is very, very attractive for her age, easily top 5%. She could easily have snagged this guy when she was 22 and he was 32. She could easily have gotten a top man by age 25.

Didact,

Yup. I think the most fundamental thing we need to do is to
a) discourage most kids from going to university (until it burns down and we can rebuild it) Trades are just as honourable as the professions. They pay just as well with far less headaches. More importantly, they'd give kids, especially guys, will give them a sense of pride and purpose
2) As you pointed out, girls/women can easily go to school after the kids are grown up. What they need are to learn trades like sewing, cooking, acccounting , etc. They too will be much happier. As I pointed out as Vox's site: deep down women really hate going to the office and leave junior at the daycare among other things.
2b) Rehabilitate the stay at home mom. It's just as sound a choice as being a scientist; so why the attitude?
3) A very thorough, radical rething of what's the good life? To me at my age and regrets; get married early, stay married; have lots of kids and fight companies that don't pay decent salaries to dad's who support a family

Those are just some thoughts.

Thanks again for a provocative post.
