I give them credit for this choice. Rush has always been the sum of the three parts (Giddy Lee, Eric Lifesom, and Neil Peart) and would not be the same with any other members. These guys are hitting 70 and, in the absense of radical life extension, have chosen to go out at the top of their game rather than turning into a parady of themselves. Rush is probably my favorite rock band. That they have ended it without going through the inevitable decline allows us Rush fans to remember and enjoy Rush's music as its very best without it being tainted by a long decline phase.

Yeah, Paul Bostaph is a monster, no question – I saw him play live with TESTAMENT back during their tour for The Formation of Damnation. But the issue with him is the same as with any thrash or death metal drummer: too concentrated in one specific "style" of drumming that is just way too extreme, without being well-rounded.
