In reply to <a href="https://didacticmind.com/2018/04/soldier-of-federation.html#comment-2218">Tom Kratman</a>.

I would be happy seeing it as a really well-done comic book series, as well... the problem is the licensing.

Starship troopers franchise is FRIGGIN EXPENSIVE. The estate wanted nearly half a million dollars to license Starship troopers, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, or even Starman Jones, as well as demanding first refusal and plot revision oversight.

No one can work within that.
No one can work within those constraints.

That is true, there are a few details mentioned in the book, sort of "between the lines". Even so, I reckon that it might be possible to create a main character who is, essentially, faceless beyond the most basic description. Something similar is done for John-117, the Master Chief of the HALO series - he is described as having "short hair, with serious eyes, a firm mouth, and a strong jaw". And that's about it.

Anyway, I sure hope that a game like this is developed someday. If done right, it could be amazing.

It does give you some idea of what he looks like; he's a tagalo-speaking Filipino. That pretty much rules out tall, blond, and pale, with a sharp nose and round eyes, as well as any version of black. BUT, be it noted, there could be other leader characters used, too: Blackie, 3rd Lt Bearpaw, Sgt Zim, for example.
