I thought it was rather clever what he wrote about India, in the book – the poor and the rich died and the productive middle classes prospered…I enjoyed the book.

Oh it's a terrific book. I didn't much care for it the first time I read through it, but on the second reading I realised it was brilliant and have re-read it many times since. It's really amazing how versatile Ringo is as a writer; he can write pretty much anything ranging from techno-thrillers to hard sci-fi to space opera to apocalyptic survival horror to… whatever the Paladin of Shadows series is.
