"Despite what Hollywood and the mainstream media would like you to believe, there is in fact a rather pressing need for a father (a bloke, usually the head of his household, who provides the firm hand and moral guidance that only a man can- you may have perhaps come across the idea?) in a child's life. Especially if that child happens to be male. The consequences of children, especially boys, being raised by single mothers are well known and well understood by now- and they are disastrous." Except the source you use is stupid: nybooks.com/articles/archives/1985/oct/24/losing-ground-an-exchange/?pagination=false

In fact your critique uses the same flaws as this study: familyinequality.wordpress.com/2015/04/17/regnerus-responds/
Stop trying to use single mothers as if they were the same as a couple!

Ew.

Imagine the harm that will be done to these children when the living arrangement breaks up. They may not ever see their siblings again, given the acrimony that accompanies lesbian "divorce."

What kind of ideas on sexual relations will these kids carry forward? It's insanity, and it won't end well. My gay SIL and her partner tried to have kids (with donated sperm from a gay guy, you know, to up the chances their kid would at least be lefty if not outright gay!). Thousands and thousands of dollars later, neither one ever got pregnant. It's a blessing, really. No child should have to live in a home like that.
